First of all my policy is to never buy one on anything. I broke that last night on my 2013 Tacoma. For $10 / month platinum 100k plan would you do it? I am having some serious second thoughts.

You'll hear all kinds of opinions and in several other threads on this topic. I got the plan because the benefits were too good to pass up. It came with two years of free oil changes and if I don't use the warranty, Toyota pays me back my money. With all the electronics on today's vehicles, one issue can easily surpass the amount you pay for the warranty.

There is a dealer on here that sells it for like half of what your local dealer will, and Toyota still honors it.

We got the Geico bumper to bumper 100K mile warranty for our FJ. It was like $7 a month. 300 miles after the regular warranty ran out, our alternator crapped the bed. Geico covered the $600 repair. 2 years later the transmission died. Geico covered the $6000 repair. Totally worth it.

You can buy their extended warranty when the factory one runs out? They offered this warranty when I got my insurance through them on my 2013

I didn't buy it on my 2007 and have been regretting it now that I'm climbing in mileage. From here on in, I will purchase the extended warranty or plan on trading the vehicle in every 3 - 5 years. Vehicles just don't seem to be made to last any more.

I ran the numbers when I got to work this morning. Turns out the finance guy stretched the monthly amount. He rounded $17 to $10. Emailed my sales guy and told him they can take it off or take the keys. It is their choice. Also, he told me no deductible which was not true.

You have the option to buy their (Toyota) extended warranty up until 35,999 miles, when you hit 36k you can't buy it anymore.

there are always others, correct? Also, I knew there were several threads on the subject. I did not want to wade through them to figure out if $10 / month was good deal. I guess it does not matter now since the finance guy stretched it. Before I buy another I am going to have to carry laptop or load a payment calculator on phone. Sales director will either straighten it out or I will hand the keys back.

I bought it. I don't have time to wrench on my Taco nearly as much as I'd like and it works out for me on a cost/benefit basis.

Went back tonight and straightened things out with finance guy. I think he made an honest mistake. He was comparing the original payment at wrong APR without the last day of month discount. Dropped my payment by $23 / month so I dumped the extended warranty.
