On my parents 2009 we did a fabtech 6" and I believe 33x12.5 17
But out tires stuck out like an inch maybe at the most and they failed us for that the put a stick straight down the fender and if the tire stops it they will fail you so I say cover them wheels even if it sticks out lil bit

But yeah I'd just cover em better be safe then rescheduling an appointment
But anyways truck looks awesome I am a sucker for that gray

Thanks Brendo! I might go ahead and order the bushwackers from Amazon. They have the best shipping rate on those. Autoanything quoted me over $200 just for shipping!
I have heard so many different recon stories on wheels sticking out. A little is okay, just the tread blocks have to under the fender, and nothing sticking out at all.
I think it all depends on the inspector that day.

Try emailing them and seeing if they can ship another way not listed. Sometimes its cheaper, might take alittle longer though. Also for the inspection you do like some other people around here and trade tire/rims with someone that is stock for a few hours that day.

 

Can't really tell from your pictures, but if the tread face is sticking out past the fender, you'll get denied. I passed with sidewall sticking out, no problem. The tread was all covered by the fender though.
Get recon for the lift with your stock tires, then sell em later. All you really want is the sticker and to be done with the bs process.
And don't get flares with 265s, if needed, get garden edging, make a ghetto flare, pass recon and chuck em.

I'm just gonna order them from Amazon. I already have an account and they only want $40 for shipping. I could swap wheels for safety inspection, but I like everything to be legit since I live in Hawaii Kai, and drive through Waikiki a lot. Cops usually are a little more strict around here than other parts of Oahu.

Actually I already have recon from when I installed the lift. But the inspector said if I get bigger tires, I have to bring it back and add it to the list. Also I heard that wider flares would have to be bolted/screwed to the fender to pass. I might just give it a shot as. The edge of the last tread block is under the fender, but the side walls do stick out. I actually like the look of the bushwackers tho.

 

Thanks! The wheel color is a perfect match for MGM. The center caps came painted flat black, and I didn't want to run them. I painted them with some duplicolor perfect match paint I had left over from when I colormatched my grille and it looks the exactly same.

If it was me I wouldn't bother with it. Most cops won't check. If you already have the sticker, one less reason for them to harass you. You'll be surprised, so much work to get recon and cops sometimes don't even ask for the papers. Good luck either way.

It is if you drop a plumb bob from the fender, the furthest out tread block that contacts the road (sidewall tread doesn't count) has to be within that dropped line.

From that picture, I would say you can pass no problem.
