holy crap, i had my worst crash in years this morn.

fortunately was heading out on second lap and was only 50 ft from trailhead.
happened at :29 spot of this vid. (not a vid of crash)
    http://youtu.be/FjUMhVKFiqc

my left pedal must've hit a rock or root and just catapulted me clear over the bars.
ended up landing on the back of my right shoulder and whole right side.
dented my helmet pretty good, too

    all rocks and dirt...ouch
gonna be sore as hell tomorrow

    all and all, very lucky

damn i hate falls like that. glad your alright though. just remember you should probably get a new helmet if yours got damaged.

i had a "fall" on friday too...i wouldnt really consider it a crash haha, me being tired combined with me being an idiot on a slow rock garden...i cleared most of the rock garden but right at the end there was a rock with a cut at like a 45 degree angle and my wheel got stuck....ended up just tipping over and my left foot was still clipped in...i think my knee landed on a bush stump or rock or something hahaha :anonymous: i felt like an idiot after i did so well on the rest of the rock garden.

Sounds like new helmet time. Also, if you were clipped in using SPDs check tension and cleat condition. Hope you heal up. I just started back up full force after recovering from a fractured clavicle. Actually the doc said no hard riding for another month due to the possibility of re-injury but I just do trail riding anyway. Here is a pic of my ride after servicing it for an afternoon run in the forest.

Sounds like a great day to demo!

A buddy of mine and I hit the Cupertino Bike Shop's annual swap meet. The $2 admission fee goes to support the local mtb advocacy group. Not a lot that I needed but some cool stuff-especially bikes.

Sounds like a spot to get some good deals on some bike stuff. I need a lot. i am thinking about building a 29er. They have a good deal on a frame at that LBS, so I was thinking about throwing one together.

Pace Bend, west of Austin off 71. Nice place, plenty to ride. Only bad thing is it is probably less than 8 miles away by air but 50 miles away by land to get to it from my buddy's house.........but Hidden Valley ORV park is only about 12 miles up the road. :D

Haha no fs does not. I am going to mess around a little bit with down hill this year if I can but I like straight up mt biking, with a little mix of everything. Luckily around here there is a nice mix, not too much up or down hill just some technical trails.

cool, yeah here at school we have straight up all-mountain/enduro style trails. decent uphills with awesome downhills, such solid riding. im sad i have to go home for the summer to take classes. straight up cross country and 120mm of travel is definitely the highest i would recommend there.
