running an air bump off the lower arm is dumb and not really worth it, but if you're going to do it anyways then yes, it's where it should be in terms of placement

Makes sense, I just didnt get why a fabricator would do it "wrong" persay, or let it roll out like that with their name on it. I mean it only takes 20 minutes a side to pull and chop the shafts... But that's just me I guess.
Yah asking a question about an improperly set up front end makes me a "fucking newb"... Thaks for changing it up Adam

it isn't worth it... why run a bump if you're going to be riding it at ride height? run a triple secondary, get it dialed in, particularly the bump zone, run a poly bump simply to prevent metal on metal and you'll save the time and money of wasting the time and money running an improperly utilized air bump

Same thing happened with mine. They need to be shortened to 2"

Ah, So you're saying it isnt worth it if your bumping at ride height? I agree with this obviously because beentheredonethat. The bump oil is already tapped out because its hitting durring cycle, And then when you need it for exactly what its designed for its not gonna be there for that hard hit. But counting out the bump from the start is silly. But I agree with you

bumps are touching strike pad at ride height so owner can either shorten bumps are increase preload on shocks, or do nothing. Riding on bumps at ride height will only affect the ride at, you guessed it, ride height. Which means, if you spent a shit load of money building a desert rig only to complain about how it rides on the street, then this may be a problem for you. Once you are in the desert and start cycling the suspension like what the truck is supposed to do (operate off road), then there really isnt a ride height, and the bumps are doing their job by adding more dampening and bottoming out just before the primary shocks bottom out.

I totally understand I wasnt complaining about ride height or anything, it just seemed odd to have that much bump that early, there is still a nice amount of uptravel that is going all against the bumps, instead of just hitting the bump on full compression and preventing metal on metal contact. I get that bumps are part of the suspension cycle, but with secondary bypasses installed is it necessary to have it so low? It would seem like half of the travel is operating on the bump, which would hypothetically fuck with the way it rides on or off road?

now this makes sense to me... it almost seems like he would be better off without that bumpstop... but what do i know

bottom line is devin wanted bump stops. Yes i let it roll out of my garage like that cause thats exactly what devin wanted and an engine cage wasn't an option. and shawn " chop the shafts" haha your kidding right? also if you notice there is basically zero pre load on the springs(just enough to keep em in place at droop) because thats what devin asked for so he could still fit it under his car port deal. Ideally he needs to add some pre-load ( although the front will be a bit high with the solo spindles and the lift they provide) and shorten the bump to 1". having a 1" bump that far inboard will still bump out the last 3-4 inches of travel just like a bump off the upper would do. shawn you have a lot to learn and i would suggest doing some research before you start running your mouth and making stupid comments. Thats all...good day
