You're on DIYMA, right? I thought your name looked familiar. Were you on ECA as well? I'm a long time lurker, as I can find the time to read, but have recently lost the extraneous cash to buy and build.

I still have one of the old 10" eD "prototype" subs that were really a TC Sounds sub. No name on the CF dust cap, no terminals on the sub, but it hits hard.

Back to the original topic, I don't know if he will have the tuning capability to turn down the sub at the port frequency to combat that curve, or even if he will want to. It all gets back to the individual desire. Wood is cheap, and the learning is worth it. Build more than one box!

Thanks for all the info. I don't t understand most of it but it was plentiful. Based on the info I gathered I think I'm going to go with a single 10. Sealed. I want to try the JL audio 10w3. I seen it on crutchfield for $300. What do you guys think about this sub in a sealed box behind the rear seat of a dc?

The JL 10w3 is a good product no doubt but I would go with the IDQ. Just personal preference.

Nice. I just don't want to spend too much money. I don't need two subs. Anything better than stock is good for me. I'm not going for a lot of bass I just want a clear and complete system. If I can hit those lower tones, would be a plus

I do know that Rockford Fosgate make shallow depth 10's and 12's if your wanting a more concealed effect. I have two kicker cvr 12's with a 600 rms alpine amp. Its extremely loud. On some lower freq. songs it shakes the whole dash up and down about a half inch. Pair it with some nice door speakers and tweeters with a small amp for those, you would be set ;)

Yeah I used to be on there a lot. Not as much anymore.

I agree that the individuals desire is what should drive the design. For most it's about getting the most stupid low end BOOM as possible. ;)

I've got no idea. It was custom built by a local shop.
