Shorty's will pass emissions, Long's will not.

Short's will also work with any stock or aftermarket cat back exhaust.

on the 4.0's the short's add about 12HP and 10 TQ. Same with the 4cyl. Which is pretty good Dollar per Hp gained.

if the shorts do that on a 4.0 what do the longs do?? also arent the longs a somewhat simple bolt on instal and shorts require more of a weld on install? just trying to get facts straight as well before i can submit the request to the :ballchain:. :pout:

Short's are the simple bolt on install, they will work with any stock or aftermarket cat back exhaust system. Everything is on a flange.

The Long tube's are the one's that require welding and mod's to the rest of the exhaust and cat's. Ill have to

Long tube's give about 14/15-HP increase and 13lbs of TQ. Not much more for a street truck, where as a race vehicle with them is gaining more by deleting the cats and running straight to a muffler since no emissions is needed and they don't really care about a CEL.

For any daily driven street truck the short's are the way to go.

Well then, whats the price on some shorts and longs for a 2011 Tacoma v6?

Combined with TRD CAI and TRD Cat-back exhaust...headers should work nicely

hmmm and here i had been thinking the entire time that you had to take the truck to an exhaust shop and have them do a couple hundred dollars worth of fitting/welding/installing to run shorts. when it turns out, from what you said, the shorts are the ones i can do in my driveway with a couple hrs holding wrenches. Fantastic!! this should help my side of the battle with the other half for sure!!!

To use your TRD cat back you would have to stick with short's, Long tube's wont work with that, have to be custom,

    PM on way

Yup! Maybe just soak the bolt with some PB blaster or WD40 to make em easy to break loose the next day.
