33's with stock gears at that elevation, seems pretty quick to me.....

Gaining 1 second from 0-60 is huge, and takes quite a bit of power to make a difference like that with that much weight.

Motortrend has a 2005 Prerunner listed as 15 seconds 0-90 and I got your 0-~85 at about 15-16 seconds according to that video.

    I picked up 2 seconds to 60...

I'm on 33s too remember... When my speedo shows 80 I'm actually going about 86 so my number there is pretty close to a stock extended cab prerunner at what I would imagine is sea level. Not too bad really considering I'm barely making 2.5 lbs of boost at this elevation with the stock pulley. I'm probably at stock truck sea level power now haha. I will keep this updated and do some more runs down in TX and see how she does. The elevation in Dallas is like 500 feet :p

I wish I had mine boosted. We could meet up and see how they do against each other. Or I could at least be another rig at a similar elevation to see how mine performs as well. My 4.88's would throw things out of whack though comparison wise.

When will you be off roading it? Curious to see how it does in rocks. I'd like to get one (mainly for towing power), but I fear the boost kicking in while locked and in the rocks.

It's an S/C so boost is instant, steady and gradual instead of kicking in like a turbo does. Shouldn't really be an issue other than you just flat out have more power than before.

The 4.88s are a regear for larger tires to get the power back right? We would probably be closer than you think right now...

The way my life schedule is working out it will probably be a while before I really get out there again. I'll see if I can't get into trouble in a couple weeks when I head over to see my cousin in the Montana Badlands... the power delivery is smooth. I really don't see a problem with it. It's not "snap your neck" power. You should be fine.

Yeah I am running skinny 33's. Maybe I'll make a 0-85 vid this weekend or something just to see but I would think you would smoke me in a race still. I have more torque and such on the bottom end but nothing amazing on the top end really according to the butt dyno. Plus my motor is bone stock. Hell might be worse because I have crushed my y-pipe and exhaust. haha

I'm gonna be getting new tires in the next couple days and I am really going back and forth with the whole tall and skinny vs tall and fat comparison. I want 33s, but I really feel as though if I go skinnys I won't like the look and ultimately won't be happy. I'm pretty dead set on 33" Dynapro ATMs right now. Much better behavior on the pavement, but still good offroad traction when I need it.

I think I am going to some 12.50's for my next set. Hopefully in a 37 but might only be a 35. I like the skinny's for a lot of reasons but want to try out some wider tires now. Plus it's harder to find 35's and 37's any skinnier than 12.50.

Ha go do it! They're kinda fun. Can't wait to pull in the low elevations

Yeah, I have been crunching numbers as to where my power levels should be. According to how elevation affects an engine as well as how it affects the supercharger, my numbers tell me that I am only pushing a dismal 2.5 lbs of boost on this setup which would put me right around the same amount of power as a stock truck at sea level. Kinda sad, but makes me much happier with what I am seeing.

Maybe that's why some guys can light up their tires easily and I sure as hell can't even with 4.88's. Never really thought about taking elevation into account. Didn't think it had nearly that big of an affect.

Yup probably... My numbers tell me that assuming I am making 300 hp at the wheels at sea level at a mile above (which I am even a little higher here) my power would only be in the 250 range at the wheels. Take into account that I also am turning approximately another 20 lbs a corner with these tires over stock equipment. It adds up... QUICKLY
Haha I kinda did hit 88 if you take into account my tire size correction (8%). I think it will be a lot faster at lower elevations and plan to make more (better quality) runs then.
    Dammit... Pm sent...

I have stuff I gotta get done first before I can run a smaller pulley! That is a pretty good deal though on a pulley and press kit. I might make Mark help me do the pulley install and FPR Mod both when I am down in TX
