My dealer threw all the parts on in one shot today. It actually seems slightly better but I can still tell it's there. Luckily it doesn't seem to have made it any worse like some are saying. Mine wasn't very bad to begin with though. Will see how it goes over the next couple days. Ride with the new leafs seems the same.

I installed Hellwig helper EZ-550 I still had shudder/vibe after new drive shaft, for less than $60 with shipping and 45 minutes of your time it did help. I don't know if these springs are softer or not but so far I am pleased with with the helpers.

Funny you mention these, I ordered some this morning. Been looking at them for a week or 2 but waited until they installed my new leafs to order them. I'll be putting them on this weekend. I mainly ordered them to help with handling a load as I take a 4,200 mile road trip, not to handle the shudder, but if it does both that's great.

I have not read this entire thread, but has any dealership measured the angles between the output shaft and pinion shaft? These angles must be identical, and the carrier bearing must be almost zero degrees(slight angle is needed for lubrication of u joint). If the output angle and pinion angle are not identical, you will get conflicting harmonic vibrations between the 2 angles, driveline 101, Toyota knows this. Any 2 piece drive shaft must adhere to this principle. This is a simple shim adjustment if this is the cause of the vibes. Just a thought.

    Hey all,

I know the TSB said something about 15-20 mph, but my vibration was coming at about 51. Had it balanced, and aligned like 20 times, so that was not the issue.

Anyone else have the problem at a different speed?

My Tacoma is currently in the dealership shop, and "might" be released tomorrow.

    Anyone? Bueller?

They do help with the axle wrap, and I believe axle wrap is the root of this shudder.

They replaced my driveshaft it was out of balance, could be the vibration you feel at higher speeds. I had some vibs higher than that have not had a chance to hit the interstate.

I really don't notice any difference with them on there. I wasn't putting them on for the shudder though, just a little extra insurance when I have to carry a load.

    A quick update:
Added an OME lift with a 1.5" AAL and the 15-25 mph vibrations are GONE. Not sure if it's because I torqued the U-bolts down to about 90 lbs or the AAL or both, but it's gone.

North Park Toyota did mine without hesitation. Fred was my service manager if you want to give him a call.

Awesome news. I'm installing the OME kit with Dakars 2 weeks from today!

O.K. had all of the TSB stuff done. Fixed nothing. Made it worse.

Now, I've got the driveline vibration under hard acceleration and a severe bounce at 50mph.

Had the Toyota Field Technical Supervisor come in and his official response about the vibration "This is a characteristic of all Tacoma's from 2007 to the present. Including the 2013's."

    Anyone else find that unacceptable?

Also, now I can hear a clicking from the back end when I the truck is down shifting at low speeds.

Thinking about a trade-in. Any thoughts???
