I just got the 5100's put on the front, and 4 BFG AT's all around. the tires are 265/75/16 and ride great and look much more aggressive than those worthless rugged trails. The stance is much more aggressive looking and the ride is great.

For anyone interested i set my 5100's on 2.5 and it perfectly leveled out my truck with the TSB in the back. in fact, the back end is maybe still a quarter inch higher than the front. If you have the I4 then it may not be heavy enough and 2.5 may be too high.

I am waiting to hear back about some black steelies i was looking at while at the tire place. at discount tire this is "tire and rim" month so you get hooked up if you buy both. i'm starting to have second thoughts about the rims though. I want black steelies but i'm just worried about aftermarket rims fitting on the taco. any thoughts?

i definately recomend the 5100's. i may try to get some of my raked look back by getting a big brush guard for the front so it will sag a little bit :)

    i hate the mod bug.....

I'll post pics after she's clean and possibly wearing new rims

Let's see some dirty pics. You know how we roll around here.

Oh and your truck looks pissed because it has to live in South Caroline and be driven around by a redneck.

yeah, yeah i know, this thread is worthless without pics, blah blha blah, i was expecting that, just not to that degree. wow. it just got the new tires on last night so i haven't had a chance. i'm gonna wash it tonight so i'll try to post pics tomorrow.

yeah you're were right. i had alot of people tell me that 2.5 would be too high without blocks or some extra lift in teh back. actually you're the only one that said it would work. i took it to my buddies shop where it was level and jacked up the front exactly 2.5 inches to look at it and it looked level. then with the weight of the front end i think it sits just a hair below 2.5 so it looks good. Thanks for the advice Rick

I went with Toyota rims, there were the same price as the local guy and he could not say if his would fit, get this, if they did not fit he was going to charge me a 10 % re-stocking fee.

A/T tires definitely give it a "meaner" look, for sure. I got Firestone Destination A/T's 265/75/16 put on Saturday and I've had like 5 people mention it where I work. Definitely a more aggressive look and I don't hate my steelies as much as I did (yeah I do).

I'm debating the 5100's or going with a mild spacer lift (.75") since I have not done the TSB. I know that the 5100's are the BEST way to go but I just don't know what I'm going to do yet.

Just wondered what the TSB raised the back of your truck. Mine was only about .75" and I figured the middle setting on the 5100's at 1.75" would be just right. Later

If you can afford them (they are only $200 shipped) i recomend the 5100's. they have a better dampening effect than the stock Billies. I've noticed a big difference going over speed bumps. Mine are a little stiff but tahts because on the higher you raise them the more compressed the coils are so the harsher the ride, but even on their highest setting the ride is fine. At their lowest setting, .85 inches, you're ride would be greatly improved. and then later on if you get the tsb or lift the rear at all, you can always re-adjust the front shocks to 1.75 or 2.5. so like i said, if you dont mind the 200 bucks the 5100's are great and give you more options down the road without having to buy a bigger lift or more spacers.

most people say the TSB raised the back end around 1.25 inches, but i think mine is closer to 1.5. I can say this, with the stock BFG's (265/65/16.... i think) and the TSB, the space between the top of my rear tire, and my fender flare was exactly 7.5 inches. The same measurement on the front gave me 5 inches. Now after the new tires the back is 6.5 inches from the fender, and the front is almost like 6.4 or 6.3 inches. So go put a tape measrue on the back tire at the highest point in the center, and measure teh space to the fender flare. if you're under 7.5 inches then for some reason your TSB didnt provide the same lift mine did
