Pros and cons of a mini 8ight vs. mini e revo? Wanting to pick up one. Leaning towards the mini 8ight.

Never had a mini e-revo but i do have a mini 8ight, the mini 8ight handles awesome for its size and is fast as hell on 3s I would imagine its not as good of a basher as the e-revo but I have flipped mine countless time and have only broken little stuff that can be beefed up easily.

What do you plan to run on? The mini 8ight is good for onroad and track like surfaces, the mini e-revo has much more suspension and can handle offroad much better.

Wanting it mostly for the track since I can't afford an 1/8 scale buggy haha. I've heard the mini 8ight's are very good bashers too. Obviously ground clearance would be an issue with that but I don't really run my rc's in grass, besides my wraith. Mostly run at the track. Big dirt lot with some ditches there to mess around with too. People tend to look at me funny when I give my slash hell through the ditch and the gravel then hop right on the track and try to clear big triples that always turn out bad. I'm not afraid to really run my stuff haha. I've actually only broken 2 parts in over a year of beating the snot out of my slash. 1 rear bearing carrier and 1 front a arm. I tell you this to give you insight to how I drive. I've heard the erevo needs a lot of upgrades to be reliable. The only problem I've heard with the mini 8ights are the shock ends.

Yeah first 2 times breaking my mini 8ight were shock ends.. first 3 months with my shash i snapped 3 driveshafts, 2 a-arms, bent the shit out of a shock, so im not too easy on my stuff, i try to break it at times so i have something to buy/do.. But in my opinion id say go with a mini 8ight, you will have alot of fun with it even on 2s which is what i mainly run.

Yeah I think I will. Idk how I haven't snapped a driveshaft yet... I ran 3s for a while with a fully tightened slipper and still didn't break one. My shock shafts stay bent so I don't really count them as broken haha. Although I did break down and rebuild them all the other day with new shafts, 45w in rear, 50w in front, and linear rate losi springs. Now just gotta wait for the track to dry up to test out the new suspension.

Holy shit that's way worse than anything I've done. That's including bombing around on 3 cell. Most I've gotten is a slight banana and I beat the shit out of mine. You can get hardened shafts for the stock shocks but they are $10/ pair. Stock is only $3. The pl shafts might be a bigger diameter which would def help.

This may not be your issue but every time I've seen that happen a lot as you describe, the shocks have been mounted too tight, not allowing them to freely rotate. You may want to upgrade to aluminum bodied shocks at some point as well

Very cool!! I haven't raced in over ten years. I'm thinking about getting back into it. Last time I raced was at m&m raceway in corona and before that the ranch pit shop in Pomona.
