So did anyone else receive the recall letter to replace the spare tire attachment brace? I took my truck in early this week for the recall work, but I can't seem to figure out what the dealer fixed or changed, and all the parts look as they did before (at least from looking at the spare tire and all the parts that is holding it up in place.... Any ideas?

Mine was done last month. Involved changing the cable and the plate that holds the rim in place. It didn't take too long maybe an hour.

Yours may not have been bad enough to replace. I took mine in and they did not replace a thing

Just had my 03 done last sat, they replaced the entire unit. took about 30 mins. Service Rep told me you have to have 80% rust on the plate for the replacement to be done.
