i always plan to break so i pack all these spare parts and when i get down there i never break anything.. I think it's cuz my driving style is different on slick rock than it is up here in idaho. But this year i has a front locker so it's like im taking down 5 spare axles and im bringing back 4 broken ones to get them replaced with new. Gotta love that liftime warranty.

I have two Toyota CV's on order and getting two rebuilt so Ill 4 toyota OEM cv's

i have two hub and bearing units on order, but I reliazed I fucked up

so on the too the next question.... how important is the brake dust cover??? I know it adds some spacing between the bearing and the spindle, but is it 100% necessary, doesnt bother me too much but I'd like to not have to put it back on, as the bearing are a fucking PITA to seperate from the spindle

I dont have that cover on I am pretty sure. The giant flimsy metal thing that covers the breaks? When I replaced everything I forgot to put it back on and didnt want to go through the hassle of taking everything back off. But it isnt hard to separate the hub unit from the spindle.

The wheel bearing and the hub are the 3rd item from the left correct? Have you found a source for ones ready to bolt on? The ones I've seen sound like they need to be pressed or something.

As far as whether or not you need the dust shield.. I'm gonna say no. I installed new spindles and forgot about a dust shield until I was finished. Didn't see any reason why it's needed but I put it back on anyway.

Tie rods are easy atleast.. I did mine last night. Less than an hour per side and I've never done them before.

I bought brand new wheel bearing hub assemblies with the bearings already pressed in and they are about the same price as buying bearings and then paying to have them pressed in to the units.
