What wheel and tire set up do you run?

 

I love my 265/75/16 Duratracs! They are nearly 32" tall, and just being so meaty makes them look way bigger. Plus they are load C, a little lighter and nicer ride than a load E (from what I have read anyway) I haven't really driven my truck enough since getting the tires, so I cant comment on MPG.

 

Being stationed in Barbers Point Air Station (Coast Guard). I have already sent a couple of PM's to people about the safety inspect but kinda have a general question. Should I adjust front to be lower before I ship? Running Extended front Icons, Total chaos UCA and rear icons with res also AAL. thanks and cant wait to get out of Kodiak

Why would you lower? As far as I understand if you pass safety without recon you don't need recon right? And I know someone who will pass you if it's a fairly small lift like mine.

hopefully i won't roll up in the volvo, we'll see though.

 

I have the adjustable fronts so it wont be hard to do, and its just a 2.5'' lift. Not to worried but I just wanted to ask. Quick pics of my setup.

Did u know most retail marks 25-50% up on MSRP. And used car dealers probably more due to the fact you don't know how much they got the car for.

I was looking at getting 255/85/16 or 17-equivalent(if I ever change rim sizes)

i've read into it quite a bit and sand is really the only place that size has some trouble. I'm counting on airing down should help in most instances and not wheeling solo to keep from getting stuck bad

 

Thanks guys great feedback. I have a close friend who is OG Kauai. I will probably use him for connections he has told me the same thing about local trust.

 

265/75R16 & 265/70R17 is 32x10.5
265/70R16 is 31.2x10.5 (31.4 depending on the manufacture)
285/75R16 & 285/70R17 is going to be 33x11.3

Most places I know won't give trouble for spacers, and sometimes coil-overs, but they will usually give trouble for UCA's. If it was me, I would leave it, soo if it will pass, and if not just get it aligned as cheap as you can and get it RECON'd so you don't have to ever worry about it again.

If you are 4wd with 255's, and air down, you couldn't do worse than a 2wd

Oh, and you guys were right! The Duratracs are awful in the sand. I went to Sandys this morning and tried it out. 2wd into deep sand and got stuck in about 8 feet. I just felt the rear sinking. Put it in 4wd hi and now the front starts dropping. Switch to 4lo with atrac, and it just crawled right out

The one for the lights was wondering if can put a ladder or load stuff on the bars like upsblaines if had two
