My New Audio Setup

Just upgrade my audio setup from 2 8" kicker L7 to 1 JL TW5v2-4. Still running the same Soundstream Rub1.1600 amp and added another Sounstream Rub4.600 for my mids and highs. Sound way better than the 2 kicker but not that loud as the kickers. Made the box myself with some help from a friend.

nice setup! How did you mount the amp under the back seat? I'm putting amps there now and working on several ideas.

 

Good call on ditching the Kickers.. I hate square subs.. They sound like ass.

 

I mounted the amp there which I had to build my box correctly to fit with the 2 amp. I didn't bother with the back rail that there. Built the backboard over the railing. But I only had about a few cm left for space and barely got the amp to fit without modification to it. So what I got left is 18" by 17 3/4 to fit 2 amps.

 

Here's a diagram of what I did to build my tw5 box if anyone is interested in building one. I didn't cut out the box to fit the back support beam but build it over the beam. So simple angle box with no cutting into the beam or building around the beam itself.

Hey OP, I see you went with a 13tw5. I have one in a Mr. Marv box and after I installed it o started to listen to music and I could hear it hitting the plastic behind the seat and I immediately shut it off.

I see in your pic that you removed yours... Has that helped? I just know there isn't much room behind our double cabs and it doesn't seem like I have enough room to really get the benefit of this badass sub...

Taking the back piece off would really help your sub. But I didn't know that why Mr. Marv would build a box like that for you. I think he meant that you have to take that back piece off before use. But taking that back piece off don't change anything but gives you more room for the sub to push than to have it damage your sub with the pieces on. Hope that helps.

I purchased the sub/box from another user on here so I wasn't really sure what the correct way to have it installed. But I took it off, and already feel more confident playing the sub and not worrying about it hitting the back plastic piece...
