So lately the oil light has been flickering on and off? Don't know if that can be my oil pressure or switch. Oil levels are fine. My truck has also started to slightly overheat, don't know if that could be connected with the oil switch or not. I need your guys input as to what this may be.

If the level is good I would take the plug/wire off and be sre it is a good tight clean connection. If that doesnt do it I would change the switch out. How many miles on the engine

I dont sorry. With that kind of mileage I would change the switch but it may just be an internal issue. There is alot involved in the oil system. Did you just do an oil change when it started? Does the light stay out at higher rpm's? Is there any noise when light flickers?

Just did an oil change. The light comes on when I stop at a light or stop sign. And no noise when it comes on. I'm so confused as to what it could be.

What kind of filter did you use? I have seen them cause an issue

If I recall correctly, the pressure sensor and wire are very close to the oil filter, and you may have damaged or loosened it accidentally during the change while wappgin the filter, and I'm sure after a million miles, it's been bumped a lot over the years. I may be confusing this with my old 22re motor, but I think it should be right near the filter.

I would throw another filter on it. Try an OEM toyota one just to be sure. The by pass could be your issue

I would go the smart route and rent/borrow an oil pressure gauge from one of your local auto parts stores. (Most every one these days have a loaner tool program)
Then remove the oil pressure sensor and install the gauge. Start the engine and check the pressures. If the pressure drops below spec, then you know it is a supply problem. (Pump, filter, oil) if the pressure stays high, then you know it is a sensor or wiring problem. don't waste money TRYING a fix, find the problem and spend your money ONCE.

Awesome advice! Lack of oil flow in an engine is a critical issue. Get a gauge on there and find out if that's your issue or if it's just a faulty sensor.
