Prayers please for my mom on her way

I would be appreciative of any prayers for my mom. She has been fighting stage 3 Multiple Myloma cancer for a while now, and it has finally ran it's course. She came home Tuesday afternoon so that she could be with her family. It was difficult listening in on her Last Rights being given by the priest. (My mom is Catholic)

My sister and I found it comforting that after 4 days of her being completely out of it, last night she actually woke enough to focus her eyes on the two of us (Something she hasn't done for 4 days) and while she was unable to speak, she responded when we asked her to squeeze our fingers, and you could see the response in her eyes. About 10 minutes later that recognition was gone, and she slipped back into unconsciousness. I pray for her to quickly return her spirit to where it belongs, by God's side.

My mother was an incredible, giving woman who spent her career helping others who couldn't help themselves. She worked for the South Carolina Department of Health and Mental Retardation as a case worker, where she worked directly with those in need. She always gave selflessly, even when she was in need. The world was fortunate to have her in it.

I bet she's an amazing woman. I'm sorry that your having to go through it. It's rough on everyone when something like this happens. I lost a grandfather, who ment the world to me, and an uncle to lung cancer in the same week, 2 days apart. It's very hard watching someone you care so much about to be there like that. Prayers out man.

I understand your situation, as I attend many MM meetings and hear these stories since this is a disease I too have.

Thank you so very much from everyone. We are all holding vigil and waiting it out now.

Thank you. I have learned quite a bit about MM since we found out. My mother was initially going to Birmingham area for a new treatment that has shown some good signs, but for her it was too late. The new drug is called Velcade. Perhaps you could find out more information to see if it is something for you.
