Pioneer 10" Subs with bigger amp

In my old Silverado I had a pretty simple system. Just 2 10" Pioneer subs (woulda went bigger ,but the braces under my back seat wouldn't accommodate a 12" box) and a 200W alpine amp left over from my moms car. Just got my Tacoma and planning on going a lot bigger. In the meantime though I'm debating on just throwing the 10s in there with a larger amp, maybe a 1000W. I'd stick with the little 200W but that thing is holding my Subs back, they can push waaaay more than what it's capable of. I'm thinking of getting a Pioneer Touchscreen head unit in the future, but just going to use a line out converter and stick with the factory unit for now. My question is, will the larger amp give me better quality and louder sound or will it really make much of a difference. If it won't really give me any different sound than what's in the Silverado now I might just not even screw with it, save up, and get some solar baric Kicker 12s. My brother has a pair of them in his Silverado and they kick ass!

 

What amp are you wanting to run and what's the model number of the subs you have (Pioneer)?

 

A true 1000 W amp would be a bit over kill unless your 10's are.... oh wait pioneer nope they don't need 1000 rms. It does all depend on what subs you have.

 

Yeah I'm not too happy with Pioneer Subs, they make great Head units ,but they make decent speakers at best, what type of amp would you recommend running with them? I've looked at Rockford Fosgate, MTX, and Alpine amps.

I'm honestly not sure man, it's been about 3 years since I bout them. I was going to go look at em and get the exact specs ,but my dad is driving my Chevy now and it isn't at the house at the moment.
