ATO front skid (need more but icon's might fail if I hang anything else from my truck) All-Pro front bumper thanks to a good deal here and a pesky encounter with a rock or 20, total chaos uppers.
Looking for a decent race radio to install in the truck, can you guys recomend one? The threads I found were a little out of date.
Also from what I read it sounds like I might need a license? For occasional offroad use is that really nessasary?

Kenwood 281a, cost under $200 with an antenna, just gotta do a quick mod to it to make it work on race channels and you're set. TECHNICALLY you're supposed to have a ham radio license, but I've never heard of anyone actually getting one

I'm sure I will get the license but just wanted to see if it was needed to purchase a radio.
    Thanks for the replys

I bought my radio at HRO which is a big HAM store the grumpy old guy gave me a hard time for not having a license but still sold me the radio and antenna. He recommended what antenna and all but was pretty grumpy about it lol
