I am sure you could. If he had an extra TT he needed you to drive with a big boobied girl in a bikini riding shotgun, that was handing you beers (after the drive of course, lol)

Hi Kids (and Doug), how you all doing...? No desert runs? That's okay, this is a family event weekend for me (right after we watch Iron Man 3, that is)... :D

    How about some tire talk?

So, the (P rated) Hankook Dynapro ATMs have almost 30,000 miles on them (265/75-16) and I will be shopping 'soon' as I like more rubber between the steel belts and the road than is left on these otherwise awesome tires.

My ideas are to go with the LT rated, but same tire (they have been great in all weather/ road conditions and highway quiet until most the meat was gone). Sure, 30-35 thousand miles isn't much, but I didn't do better than 35,000 miles with Toyo Open Country AT or Cooper Discoverer ATRs that I had on my '05 Tacoma.

ME: 95% Highway driving (so near 0 noise is desired) and rare mud and snow use, but some (the Hankooks were amazing in mud and snow). Most of my off roading is desert and deep beach sand (in Baja)... Also steep, loose rock filled grades, (again Baja).

The Hankook P rated tires were $140 each two years ago.

If not the LT Hankooks, then I would be willing to try the Falken WildPeak AT (or is it 'Rocky Mountain'?)...

The new Toyo Open Country AT-2 is also a thought...

    General Grabber AT-2 as well...

    Any feedback

So, price is a consideration (under $200, hopefully), and NO BFG tires, so don't suggest them please. I see that Pep Boys carries both the Hankook and Falkens as well as their Cooper made Dakota AT brand (I used them on my '01 and never got more than 25,000 miles out of them), but they were cheap and replacements were 1/2 off (because of the 50,000 mile guarantee). I will go to where I got my Hankooks in 2011 (Oceanside Tire) and talk with them. Discount Tire along Hwy. 78 in O'side/ Vista area lied to me about the Hankooks availability after they quoted me the best price, that is how I went to O'side Tire and were happy with them.

Thanks for your thoughts San Diego area (and nearby) TW'ers

My dad is on his 2nd set of Toyo AT's on his second gen. 285's, he loves them and does a lot of commuting to and from work. Gets 45-50k out of a set. They do get used off road a lot in hunting season and they do very well in all different terrains for such a highway friendly tire. The new at-2 seems the be even better. They would get my vote.

A&A in Poway is really good. Old school, they bend to fit not jus bolt on and prebent elbows. Prices are amazing.
