Alright, peeps, I would like some advice...

I'm thinking about moving my 5100s up one notch (currently on bottom), to gain some more lift and cornering stability. I know you're typically not supposed to do that with eibachs and 5100s since they already handle weight very well, but mine are getting older and having to support more weight. When I first installed my lift, my truck was basically stock and 2wd... I have since added a lot of weight (4wd conversion, tube bumper, 1/4 skid plates, maybe a winch in the future), and want to see the height it used to be at. Right now, my UCAs are pretty much level, and I know they used to be at more of an angle. Also, I hit the front bump-stops too much for my liking, off-road, and my body roll is pretty extreme right now and would like to get that a bit more stable. (It scares my passengers! lol :D)

Of course I don't want to lift the front end too high to where a good alignment isn't attainable, and while my manual hubs help keep the CV boots intact during daily driving, (even if the ribs touch) I don't want to push the lift over about 3.5". My current hub-to-fender measurement in the front is about 25." Considering I took 2"out of the fender, that puts me at 23" hub to bottom of stock fender.

Does anyone have the stock measurements by any chance?? Or even they're current measurement with eibachs/5100s? That's what'll help me decide whether or not my eibachs need a bit more preload.. Thanks!

Sorry for the delay. I am sitting at 24 1/4" in the front (center of hub to fender) after two weeks settling time and using the factory setting for coils. I am running 265/70's on 16X8 wheels. I took the measurement from the ground as well and it is 38" in the front and 38 3/4" (ground to fender) in the rear at 35 psi in the tires.

Looking back further in this thread, (looks like you guys already kinda discussed this---sorry for the repost :D) it looks like the common hub/fender measurement for eibachs/5100s is 24.25"-24.5" Which means I'm sitting a good 1.25-1.5" lower! I think about .25" of my sag is from the lower bushings, but I guess eibachs do sag after two or three years of wheeling trips 3 or 4 times a month..

Looks like I'll be moving them up one setting. I'll report back on alignment/ride...
Just notcied your location. :D You in Albuquerque? You should check out the NM Members BS Thread!! Time to break in that sweet suspension on the rocks... ;)

No problem, actually I had been meaning to take measurements anyway just to see where I sit relative to everyone else. This gave me a chance to do it.

I should have emphasized that the first pictures I uploaded were prior to alignment, my toe was way off. Here are pictures before and after.

    1.)Before Alignment
    100_3894_800X600.jpg

    2.)After Alignment
    100_3906_800X600New.jpg

I have noticed that many with LR UCA have a angle and did notice mine were relatively level. I starting thinking I put the UCA's in backwards.

No, just level with the ground. :notsure:. Regardless... my hub to fender measurement seems to be a good 1"-1 1/4" lower than everyone elses...

    Exactly.....

Granted, they hadn't quite broken in yet, but here's what my UCAs looked like when I first installed the lift.

Oh, okay. I thought that something might be wrong with mine haha. I'm amazed your coils have sagged so much!

me too..... While the extra weight I carry is a lot, I suppose it's not that much in comparison to a lot of members that also have this set-up (like Monte) but I'm thinking it's just from cycling a lot since I go wheeling quite often!! :laugh:i dunno

Alot of the level alignment with my UCA's comes from the new ball joints that came with the LR UCA's. I did some research and a level UCA is optimum.
