...I'm new to all of this, but I'll catch on sooner or later...I think....

These are my latest mods. The power windows and door locks were the hardest to do so far.
The WeatherTech floor mats are better than I thought they would be...I recommend them...

Thanks, no I didn't do any drilling. I had a little trouble getting a couple of bolts loose, but that was about it. I also added power windows and door locks, and then finished with WeatherTech black floor mats. The originals were gray.

I'll be 68 years old the 21st of this month. I can tell doing this modding stuff is whipping this old boys butt. I need the excercise though.

I'll take some pics later today and add them to what's already here.

Pics of new mods posted above in original post. The power windows and door locks were hard to do for me. It took over two days, but it all works.

I spent around $275.00 for the power windows. The dealer wanted a couple of dollars more. LOL!

I bought the power windows kit here in Jacksonville. The place I bought it from is no longer in business. I sold that 2008 Tacoma, and now drive a 2013 Tacoma Access Cab SR5. All the papers for my mods went with the 2008 Tacoma truck. I'm too damn old (70) to remember much else.

There are several similar power windows kits on Amazon.com that look about as good as what I had. I put the power windows kit in myself with a little help from one of my neighbors once in a while. It took two days to install, and I was wiped out from the experience. A young dude could do it in a day easy.

Just Curious. My 08 runs like new and the body and frame are in good shape. I live in NJ - road salt takes a toll on the underside eventually but you live in Fla - no road salt. What influenced your decision to get a 2013. Thanks for any reply. Curious George.

I was at the dealer getting my 2008 serviced. The owner walked over to me and said we need that Tacoma on our lot, it looks good! I told him that I had done a lot of work and Mods on this truck, so I couldn't afford to get shafted by a low trade-in price like the dealers usually give you. He looked it over himself, and I showed him what I had done to it. He was actually impressed! He said what would you want for this truck if I put you in a new Tacoma today? I said that's not going to happen and you know it. He said I'll give you $17,500 and give you the best price I can on a new one.

We haggled a few minutes about price and we finally agreed on a deal.

I'm paying $20.00 less a month than I was paying on the 2008. This thing is loaded too! I also got 5 years free maintenance and a lifetime warranty on engine, transmission, rear end, etc.

I took it! Being 70 years old this will probably be the last new vehicle I ever purchase. I wasn't looking for a deal, it just sort of fell in my lap. I'm pleased, but I sure loved the 2008 too! I put a lot of blood and sweat in that truck...

Well Congratulation then ! They must need used vehicles to sell in general. My wife and I are always getting letters from the dealer wanting us to trade. I think with the economy being what it is despite what Obama says people are holding on to there vehicles longer - even if they have a job they are not so sure if they will a year from now. My sister in law just got fired after 8 years and the owner let his own son go last year - that's how slow it is. Good luck with the new truck. I see you aged 2years on this thread - 60 to 70.
