Okay, you're asking one question (battery life), but I suspect you're seeking an answer for another (charge time). I'll answer the latter first. Yes, leaving Bluetooth enabled (active) can drain your battery faster and reduce your available usage times between charges. However, only you can decide if the benefits of turning Bluetooth off are worthwhile to you.

As for battery life (how many charge/discharge cycles before the battery is permanently dead), if you discharge the battery quicker (with Bluetooth enabled), you'll have to recharge it more often within a given period. That will obviously impact the useful life of your battery as well.

In general, if you don't need Bluetooth, it's probably a good idea to turn it off.

Because that's the way development works. It takes a while to develop a new phone, typically 12-14 months. Phones change so fast you need to be ready to release new ones. Any company that waits until their current phone is released to start development on a new phone will quickly die. Samsung recently released their Galaxy S4. It was already in development when the S3 was released.

What they said ^ That's how developing ANY product works. Apple chooses a very closed loop strategy in terms of their development and actual product implementation. They go down the path of releasing highly polished, single design units (albeit, so far, units with only incremental improvements every other round) so as to maintain an exclusive, top tier brand image...as opposed to Android based phones where you have an extremely wide range of quality and performance between phones.

You'd be a fool two-fold to a)think that Apple is any different than Samsung, LG, MS, etc in terms of future products in the pipe and b) think that the units already "developed" are anywhere in the realm of set in stone. Designs are tweaked, changed and scrapped all together as current products are released and mass/real world tested. In the end, we're all just beta testers for the next 2-3 rounds of product development and advancement.

Assuming caps lock is not on (common mistake) and it's an OSX System (not Adobe) password, read this page on the Apple Support site.

Please help, I'm confused on how to remove all my photos from my IPad and save them to Flickr or Photobucket or shutterfly, I have 3,000 plus that I want off my IPad without actually deleting.

Someone once said back them up it ITunes, but I'm confused about where they are at in ITunes once I do that and how do I get them off of iTunes and into shutterfly, Flickr, photobucket etc..

    Anybody?

    Thank You

Are you on a Mac or PC? Your best bet is probably going to be syncing them through iTunes then bulk loading them to the photo site of your choice. And then you'll have them backed up on your computer as well.

if you are on a mac, you should be able to plug it in and put them in iphoto.

also i think they have an app for photo bucket, that you can upload them from the ipad(or iphone) directly to photo bucket.

They do have a Photbucket app but it doesn't have a bulk upload option. Considering he's got 3,000+ pics I don't think that's a favorable option.

I think it would depend on how you've got Time Machine set up, the type of backups you've done, the space on your backup drive, and what's selected when restoring. As I understand it, Time Machine is set up by default to do incremental backups of your very latest changes and will restore to that. You should be able to also restore to some older point (in case the latest is screwed up), but to what extent depends on the space on your backup drive (can only hold so many older increments).

Of course, you could have overridden that and also made an entirely separate backup of the original computer - which would have the original OS, settings, and so on. Impossible for me (or anyone else here) to know whether you did that.

i just manually back-up with TM and it only takes up about a 10th of the external HD. as far as overriding anything i haven't done that (and frankly, don't know how to)

Almost 4.5 years of owning my MacBook this happens today. It comes and goes, but sometimes stays for a bit.

Is this a typical occurrence due to it's age?

Cool thread OP. I have a question regarding the messaging on my MBP. One day it just decided it was not going to be synced with my iPhone5 so I don't receive the messages on both devices like before. How do i revert that?
