I think they used a slim Jim those worthless f*cks . I found out the night before my truck got broken into they tried breaking into this old ladies house next to mine.

I'm actually looking into a viper alarm fr my truck. You gonna install it yourself?

For what its worth, I had a viper alarm on my old Z71 and it was still broken into during broad daylight in the Del Mar parking lot. Where there's a will...

no broken window, stereo stripped, dash taken apart. I think far & beyond installed it. Was years and years ago, but just saying. Corpus crooks know no bounds.

    Nothing but tumbleweeds.

Now that school is slowing down for me I've been working on the truck here and there. Thinking about lifting it some more:)

Haha right now I'm dealing with axle wrap up in my front end. It's frustrating.

Yikes! No bueno! I am just trying to save up enough money to do everything I want to do to my truck. So many options, not enough cash flow lol

Looking to add an amp and some speakers. Not knowing a thing about installation I was going to have Far Beyond Tint and Alarm do it. Have you guys heard anything about them? The only thing they have done to my truck is tint the windows.
Next question- where to go and how much would a 3 inch lift cost?

I have a stock JBL system I'm still planning on installing myself with limited knowledge so I can't help you there, but depending on what kind of 3" lift your doing, I would give you a hand if the timings right. I installed my own spindle lift and rear leaf pack with Bilsteins all around as I have access to a lift and impact tools...and to answer your question, my entire lift plus wheels and tires was right at $3K.

Need some info from you Corpus guys. Im planning a fishing trip down PINS and im wanting to drive all the way down to the end of the island to fish from the jetti. My truck is 4x4 however it is bone stock, and my question is would i be able to navigate all the way to the end or would i run the risk of getting stuck? Also how gnarly is yarborough pass?

Just don’t stop on loose sand, almost like powder. I got stuck on yarborough pass to wade fish off Baffin Bay. I made it through previously, but second time around got stuck because I stopped. If you keep a heavy foot and 4-Hi you can get through. I’m also 4x4, stock Taco no mods both times. I was sitting on my frame pretty much when I got stuck. I have done many upgrades to my Tacoma since, because I was stranded for about 2-3 hours, two of my upgrades now are weld on sliders and a 60” Hi-Lift jack. I got a Bruteforce Fab bumper too, but no winch yet nor land anchor. Haven’t tried it on on soft sand, but I feel Hi-lift would of got me out of that nightmare without having to get pulled out. I plan to pick up a Hi-Lift jack offroad base in the future just for when I make a return trip again.

I think this may be the exact spot I got stuck, 15 miles down the surf as you come in on PINS. Once you make it through if your trying to cross over, you should be okay. Its just nasty as you turn in until you get across.

Thanks for the reply Doomsday, i could'nt have asked for a better response. After watching a bunch of videos of people going through the pass and some getting stuck i dont think im going to attempt it. Ill stick to surf fishing or fishing off of the jetti at the very end, the only question is now if ill be able to make it all the way down. The low road always seems to be fairly easy going.

Your welcome. Forgot to mention my brother lives about 60 miles from there. He is big into fishing. He has gone through there too in a stock 2WD Nissan Titan, also all the way through past Little Shell, Big Shell, and to jetty.

Well thats encouraging, i guess when i get down there ill feel it out. If it doesnt look too bad or there are other folks around to help pull me out if i get stuck ill give it a go.

You guys are lucky to live down there in Corpus, i was down there for the entire month of july last year for work. Love the close proximity to water every where and when it came time to come back i was reluctant to go.
