Get rustoleum etching primer for them bitches. I still say powder coat them but since they are weld on that really will not work.

System needs to be reset but it require the dealer to hook up the computer to the OBD to reset them right.

Unfortunately BMW is known in the European Auto industry as having the "touchiest" check engine light. Look at the car wrong and it will trip the check engine light.

 

I think just talking about we may have blown one up

 

Didn't require a reset last Thanksgiving when I had a flat and put the spare on, then got new tires -- light went away when they were fixed. Who friggin knows.


And HUSH YOUR MOUTH about anything check engine light on my Bimmer! LOL Not had an issue with her except one CEL -- and it was just a reminder for the scheduled maintenance.

 

Somewhere, Someones bimmer just Self destructed.

 

Just sayin. Have a brother in law that had a 330xi and that thing saw the dealer more then it saw their own garage.

And on the sensors they were completely removed and set into a new rim and the tire re-seated. Pretty darn sure they need to be reset and synced up.

No that will work. Try to grind off the slag before applying and give it a few hours before you drive back especially if you are going to come through rain back to Denver. Can't wait to see these things on your rig!

 

With a wire brush? I can't wait either but I might have to drive back with them bare metal and spend the time when I get in town

 

Are you painting these while theyre on the truck? I painted mine off but I had to touch them up after welding them on. I already have rust in between the legs so make sure you get in there really good where road debris hits...

 

Angle grinder. Ben would probably help you clean them up once he gets them on.

 

Austin, yeah driving to grand junction and getting them mounted, going to try and spray primer while there and drive back. Or drive back with them wrapped up or something to keep them dry till I can get them painted

 

Cool, sounds like fun! I have to sand and redo most of mine when I get a chance.

 

You should get a quick coat on them because any bit of moisture will stick and become rust. And it be a pain to clean up after

You could order weathertecs through cabelas, the trail gear 2 at cabelas are weathertecs, they used to be cheaper to order the full set, I haven't checked in a while though

 

Got some good work done on the taco today in preparation for Moab... CB is badass just needs a little bit of tuning I think. Gramps is the man!
