POLL: SoCal Offroading trip May 10th, 11th, or12th

Hey guys, So my break in on my newly installed differentail is almost up and I really wanted to get out to the desert!

I dont really have it set as to where I wanted to go.. So I thought id see what everyone had in mind if they also wanted to head out one day this coming weekend.

My preferable choices
Saturday or Sunday
in
Barstow
Lucerne
Cal City (never been)
Ridgecrest (never been)

If im missing a good spot on that list let me know!​

 

I'd certainly be willing to come out in my 4Runner and photograph some of this shenanigans.

Don't care as far as location, but prefer as close to the border as possible haha

I'm up for a 1 day trip. Saturday works for me. I was in the Navy up in Ridgecrest back...umm...a few years ago. Never did any offroading though. Drank heavily mostly.

 

Yeah I thought about having it a camping trip but im gonna take it easy for now. Ive heard good things about ridgecrest, Except I've also heard that its really rough.

I'm going to Barstow to do some more tuning either this Saturday or Sunday

 

I used to pull into Randsburg on the way in and out of Mammoth. Cool little bar called The Joint, owned by Ray & Olga. Not sure if it still exists or not. Beers were cheap and cold. I remember the pool table was ripped, so you had to stretch the felt to get a clean shot...lol

 

When will you know for sure?

 

The Joint is still there. We usually take a trip out to Randsburg via dirtbike whenever we're camping out in cal city.



I'd be down for a day trip out to the desert. Meet up in Cal City, hit the trails across the desert and up a mountain to Burro Schmidt Mine, then back down the mountain to grab some lunch in Randsburg.

A good 70 mile loop or so for the day if that peaks anyones interest?

As far as picking a day, saturday or sunday for me should work.

 

So I was cruzing Dezert Rangers and I have found that a big group of people will be out there prefunning for the 500. I plan on going

sounds fun. if I can find someone to ride with me to split gas I'll try to make it.

 

If that doesn't work out i'd be down to split gas in my truck if you promise not to try to molest me.

Yeah, I'd be a bit out of the way for you. And I don't want to make promises I may not keep . I'll see if my buddy wants to go, if not ill probably sit this one out

 

Interested in going...anyone know if it would be cool to roll out there with a pretty much stock pre-runner Tacoma? I have 33's and bilstein 5100s but thats pretty much it...would that be too slow?
