So I think this is actually the best possible location on the truck to have a dent. Long story short an offroad situation led to a dent in the tailgate. I say it is the best place to get one because I take the bedside off and do what ever i need to do. Here is a pic:

What is the best way to approach making the dent less noticeable?

Considering how creased it is, not much you can do without probably making it worse. Maybe buy a stolen tailgate off ebay? lol

Tape it off and do some judicious hammer and dolly work, or take it a paintless dent place and see what they can do.

Haha I know I can get the main, lower dent out pretty well. The most problem areas are close to the edge and the upper part

That crease will not come out without ruining the paint. You can shrink metal, but it generates heat. Get it as smooth as possible and out a TRD decal over it.

jump on it until the whole thing bends like a banana and take it in for the tailgate tsb. I hit a tree branch while backing up and took it in for the tsb and got a new tailgate...g/l

I'm in the same boat. I have a dent on my tailgate edge. I need to see about this tailgate TSB.... which tacos are applicable? How do you test it?

You have to be under warrenty which means currently 2006?-2008 models. Your tailgate has to be bent as well
