Water in passenger door

So I was replacing the speakers in the passenger side door and I noticed a damn good amount of moisture behind the speaker. Dried it out as best as i could, slapped the door back together and didn't think about it.

Recently opened the passenger door and water slightly dripping from the door itself...... not sure what to think of this.... any ideas?

 

Door seal leak? Dry it out and put the hose the outside and see if any water is running inside.

 

Rain gets into the door, past the window seals. It's normal, but excessive amounts points toward plugged drains, and worn/damaged seals. Look at the bottom of the door. If the slit drains are plugged, clean them. Inspect the window seals for damage and objects. Replace as necessary.

 

Make sure the drains are open and not plugged up with shit

1 month old truck, so i wouldn't expect that. Will definitely take a look though.

 

Lol... I didn't even look at the age of your truck. All the bases were covered though. Do the hose test. Make them replace the seals if it fills the door up. Heavy rain shouldn't flood the truck via the door.

 

Theres drain plugs in the door where the speakers are?

 

Yes, there are slit drains in all car doors, where the speakers are. If junk gets past the seal, it can plug them.

 

Maybe too much seam sealer from the factory clogging the drain.

Shine a light where the drains are and see if you can see the light with the window down while looking down inside the door.

If its clear its just normal.

Did it rain that day or the day prior, did you wash your truck?

Without driving moisture will sit in there unless evaporated by the sun heating the door or air movement from driving.

 

The age of the vehicle really doesn't matter unless it's freash off the assembly line.

Some vehicles sit on dealer lots for months before they are sold. If there are a lot of trees in the area the weep holes can get filled quickly, even on new vehicle.
