    Yeah.
Nice video, makes me homesick for my home trails . . . but I can't really complain.

I never did Pace Bend due to having to drive all the way around the lake to get there.

I use a 25 year old Fisher mountain bike for local utility transportation and light trail riding. :)

And for roadie excursions, I rebuilt a 39 year old Raleigh Reynolds 531 steel touring frame. That's the original English thick black lacquer paint job.

The bronson is a good looking bike, i just love SC haha. i would like to try a 650b soon. saturday i rode the specialized stumpy fsr 29 and camber 29 both carbon. they were some fun bikes. I didnt get to ride the stumpy evo but my friend did and he loved it, said it was really fun. im still leaning toward selling my bike and getting a 29er...i just cant decide, maybe if i get this job im hoping to get ill do it and get a cheap DH bike for the park.

one thing i did notice was the formula brakes. first off they are really loud under hard braking and 2nd I noticed they have a lot of modulation but almost too much, like it was reallyyyy hard to get as much braking out of them as my elixir 5s. i didnt feel like heat was the problem like the avid trail brakes i had problems with either. im still gonna stand by shimano as my favorite brakes.

I rode behind a guy who had a AM Intense 29er. A trail I am very familiar with with some steep rock garden sections with some 2-3 foot drops, this dude flew down those sections like the drops weren't even there. He told me he used to ride a 26 on that trail and would really have to lean back for those drops but on that 29er he just rolls right over.

I really want to try a Bronson out. Hope my LBS has a SC demo day again soon. I wanted a Nomad for so long but now Im thinking 650b!

    Yes, I sold my '13 Taco. :'(
    I'm with you on that.

Having tried all the brakes under the sun...nothing compares to a set of Shimano XT/XTR/SAINT brakes.

I used to be a diehard Formula guy, until the new style lighter XTR's came out with the Ice Tech rotors. Haven't looked back ever since.

I feel the same way with Shimano drive train as well. The Shimano stuff works, and works fantastically.

thats how I felt too. I only rode the rumblefish on a really technical trail but it was still a lot of fun. i would like to ride more 29ers on that trail to compare, i feel like the rumblefish isnt the most refined 29er out there. if i dont sell my ex8 im thinking of getting a 650b for the front. a lot of people out here do that and its seems to work pretty well.
yeah man those are the way to go. it seems like XT are probably the best value, it seems like a set of XT brakes is about the same price as formulas too haha.

i love my shimano drive train too. the specialized bikes had sram x9 and one thing i noticed that i dont like is the trigger shifters. my shimanos shifters are the ones where i can use thumb or index finger, its soooo much easier that way. my year old SLX feels better than the x9 overall

Speaking of brakes. Selling the Avid XO Trails I bought the other day. $200 bucks shipped. They come with 160mm rotors. They are in great shape. Used a couple times.

Got this today. Giant Boulder. It had been sitting outside for about 3 years at my girlfriend's sorority house, so I took it home! For FREE!!! Obviously needs a new chain, new tires and tubes, maybe rebuild the forks, and I may paint it flat black. I'm looking into getting a disc brake for the front as well.

Did you find out if there is a retro kit for the hydraulic brakes? Not all bikes have them, that bike doesn't look that old so they very well may.

Amazing how slow a GoPro makes you look. My buddy took this video on my favorite trail today with me. Through the rock garden(GoPro makes this look almost flat) I got off my line and he almost caught me but I held him off. I promise we were both pinned through this whole trail.
    Picture of said rock garden.

Congrats on a sweet find. Also replace those pedals, they look plastic in the pic.

I see lots of busted plastic pedals out on our local trail
