Strange sound started a week ago...Help?

Dealership tomorrow...I think it's a u joint or driveline balance issue

 

See if the sound goes away in 4WD. If it does, the problem is in the front diff needle bearings.

 

I put it in 4WD, drove up to 50MPH and I couldn't hear it. In 2WD I could hear the noise again at 70MPH, can the needle bearing still be an issue at 70MPH?

 

In theory, yes. You should try 4WD at 70 mph for an accurate comparison though.

 

I'm not sure about taking it up that high. it's recommended to top out at 50mph

damn it OZ you make me re think my whole damn life! my bad I forgot it's not supposed to be ACTIVATED above 50mph

 

Man, this sucks. Not even 10k and stuff is wearing down already? And I have to explain all this to the tech, I bought the vehicle lifted and certified, am I going to have to go in every 10k for new needle bearings??

Before you jump to conclusions, run the truck up to 70 mph in 4WD and compare. If the noise didn't appear at 50 mph in 2WD and only appeared at 70 mph, you didn't prove anything.
