I finally found a short bed 2nd gen shell local for a good price. It wasn't the right color (black) but I figured I could always paint it. On craigslist the guy said he wanted $500 so I didn't want to screw around and bought this at lunch today:

    black.jpg

Then I got back and was telling someone about it and he tried to find it on craigslist and damned if there was the one, MGM color that I have been looking months now for $475 just listed 45 minutes earlier. The guy was awesome and even though he had guys on the phone begging him to hold it for them, I was there with cash and he helped me load/install it. I'm STOKED. I have been stalking craigslist for months since I got the truck and thought I was going to have to bite the bullet and shell out $2kish for a new one with the color match, internal light, carpeted liner, flip down sliding glass etc that I wanted. I am not sure if this is a Rebel or Cab-hi or even XV, but I had to share.. Patience pays off!

Anyone need a nice black snugtop camper shell? lol :D

Thought so.. tough to tell from their website. The black one has a lower profile lock built into the glass and internal light looks different but otherwise looks about the same. It could be a rebel too. :notsure:

I doubt it but maybe it's just a hardware change thing? I kinda dig the sliders myself. My puppy is going to be riding in style now with his own screened windows. Hopefully he doesn't trash the screens.. lol

Volcom beat you guys too it. I'm surprised how many people are looking for one of these.. clearly I wasn't the only one. lol

I'm still so stoked I found these for so cheap. Now I just have to wire it up to get the internal dome and brake lights working.

Nice find. I trolled all the craigslist in the SE for a couple months and finally found one in hunter green for 150 on ebay. Had to drive a few hours and slight damage to one corner, but nothing a little fiberglass filler couldnt take care of. Still need to match it. Have the duplicolor MGM, just need to get around to it. For 150, couldnt beat it. The hunter green on MGM looks kinda cool but still want it matched.
