No problem. Just search eBay and get the one with the blue/orange label and you'll be good to go. It's capable of reading all of the sensors that the ECU monitors even though not all are coded by users at this time. Most of the important ones are.... like BOOOOST!

I don't watch BB. But I love the Psycho movies. This series is REMARKABLE. ...and is a perfect filler between Walking Dead seasons.

For anyone that is interested, I'm working on getting donations for the Wounded Warrior Project. Running in the Tough Mudder with coworkers and as part of it all we are trying to raise money for Wounded Warrior. Normally I wouldn't post something like this, but supporting our soldiers is one of the things I care about.

You can make donations at Wounded Warrior Donations. Every cent goes to the charity with no minimum amount and can be made anonymously.

That's good info and research Ost.

Personally I always run premium. Not so much that the performance is there but that it burns cleaner to keep the engine cleaner. Or at least it has worked for me so far. :)

Premium doesn't mean better gas it means higher resistance to pre-detonation or knock. If your running higher octane than what your engine requires to not knock your wasting your money. It's your money so don't let me talk you out of doing what you want with it though.

I get better gas millage with my 2.7L by using Premium. It works out to be the same money, but with less fuel ups, so I keep using it.

Far too many variables to say it's the octane rating. There's absolutely zero science that supports that. Trust me, if your car is designed to run on 85oct there's zero benefits from running a higher octane unless you can advance timing or increase boost on a forced induction application. Even then the gain isn't MPGs. Your 2.7L has no way of knowing it even has 91oct in it.

This conversation came up a lot at the dealership I worked at in Dallas. Cadillac owners are famous for believing they need to put premium gas in a their luxury car. The only models that required it were the V series. While no, it doesn't have significant benifits in an engine designed to run on a lower octane, it does give some users peace of mind for whatever their reasons may be. I ran premium in my old Ranger as they were famous for knocking on accelloration. It was the easiest way to solve that problem.

The bigger and more important factor for your gas and its effects on the longevity of your engine is where you buy it. Buying quality fuel from a top tier station (shell, chevron, etc.) that use cleaning additives will help prevent carbon build-up and the wear and tear that result from it.

I am not a sceintist, but even if I ran 85 at this time, you would say the data is skewed. During the summer I can get close to 400 miles on a tank, with normal highway driving.
