Love my 97', rarely see any others that are purple. Have to admit it, wasn't a fan at first but the colors really grown on me with the black bummer and trim on it.

Great Looking bumper!!! You fabbed it, right?

Like the idea of bypassing the crush zone for your bumper mounts by taking it back to the Bump stops. Is it bolted on back there too or just the four bolts that use to hold on tow points?

Thanks for the compliments, guys! When I get time, I'll start a build thread and will be able to show more detail on the front bumper. One neat feature is that the front winch plate is removable. I'm going to make a rear bumper that will accept the plate in the rear, so I will be able to winch in either direction. Since I do expo type trips by myself from time to time, it might be handy!

Interesting. I have the same type of switch in mine, but it's in the slot to the left of yours where your Toyota Security light is. I also have no idea what it does. Flipping it on or off seems to have no result.

I'll follow the wires one day and see where they go.

I use that spot for my off-road lights switch, but I never had anything in that spot stock.

You're right, I need to get around to getting the chrome off... I was actually thinking about a graphite color for the front grill bezel and wheels, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Ideas are welcome on that front for sure.

I actually bought my sliders used from a guy in Wyoming. They are the older bolt-on CBI extended cab sliders. They are .120 wall HREW tube, so they'd be pretty easy to make with a manual tube bender and welder!

I had a couple of other questions for you guys...

    1. Are you all still running stock length rear leaf springs? If so, what kind of wheel travel numbers are you getting in the rear?

    2. For you guys running 33x12.5 tires. Did you have to do any trimming beyond the pinch weld and immediate body to clear your tires?

    Thanks,

    Lumpskie

I went with OME dakars, and a 2" lift shackle in the rear. Not sure the travel I get, but I max out my 12" billies in the stock mounting location.

    Good Info.

What is the eye to eye measurement of your shackle and do you have any pics of your rig flexed out?

I have stock length maybe a tad longer. 1" lift shackles. Only have 10" billies and have pretty impressive travel. Haven't measured it but I'm sure I'm maxing out my shocks in stock location.

I did for 12.5s. Hammed the fire wall and cut the fenders by the fire wall too
