Any body have some recommendations on tint shops was looking at going to tint zone for some 3m products I'm not looking to break my bank
Just gotta retint since my truck has shit ass tint
5% out back 35% up front and possible a 5% front strip

I know T&t does awesome work but they also cost a arm and leg

I did mine @ AL's Tinting in Pearl City across the street from Anna Millers, next to Chevron .

 

Yeah I heard they are good
My reg cab the previous owner took it there back in 2006 and the tint still loves top shape

How much was it for yours?

 

30% there's a 6% deviance you can do that's why from 35%.. Check out midnight tinting by ward.. I just paid $170 includes lifetime warranty and cool guy..

X2 I got my full ceramic 3M from Al's. 35 on the two fronts, and 80 on everything else including the windshield. I picked the absolute thickest 3M made, so it cost about $650 out the door and took 3 months for the waves to go away! But I love it, and Al's is great! Lifetime warranty too

Looks great to me! I'm washing my truck this weekend and stickin em on!

Go see Pat at tintzone, he has done all my cars. With other shops you may pay more but you aren't really getting more. And ceramic tint is a waste of $$$. You have AC and operating windows? Then its a waste of $$ for the temperature savings. Pat will tell you straight.
I tried to match my 4 door so its 20 front, 35 over rear door privacy glass, and 20 over sliding rear. Also have UV windshield tint to save the interior.

 

Yeah haha like I mean I don't need all the fancy stuff however my main concern is I absolutely do not want that shit to fade in 2 years the one that on the truck is faded idk where previous owner took it
That is my main concern and a warranty would be great too

going to tint my truck this morning.... kama'aina tint got a 100 dollars off deal going right now. so im paying 140 for 5% all around. i dont care if its illegal. i see cops and almost everyone on the road driving like that, and now i got the hook up with safety i am just going for it

 

legal % of 'applied' tint? If you read the HI vehicle codes word for word, only factory equiped tinted glass is "legal". Really says, Any non-factory mod is not allowed....but then again....why they give guidelines for % of tint?!?!? So it's kinda like the 2nd half of Lemon177's post said... 'up to the cop'!

No applied tint on mines! Helps keep the cops away...lol!

 

Just be careful or know a lot of cops cuz u gonna get tickets if they see you specially in town waiks or airport I had 5 all around and 35 on the windshield and when you get tickets u think of all the money you could have spent on other things you wanted. If the cop is a prick he will get tag for over 100 per window just a heads up. Good things about dark tint I like the fact people can't see in the truck or look and I can see them the ac gets colder during the day and protects your interior and not as hot when parked in the sun.

You parked in front of my other taco at cosco last night if had the tw stickers would have left one on the windshield but stickers was in my 12

 

yea, by the airport they love to tag for shit like tint and no recon.

Is it going to have 5% on the windshield? Every time I see a cop pull someone over in Kaneohe, they have the windshield tinted 5% too!

My friend got 5% on his rear and said he gave up backing up at night.. Until he got a reverse camera and reverse floods lights

 

Where did everyone with a 12 or 13 get there fog lights bulbs or what are you running I got some led from race factory and they are to fat to fit in the hole anyone have this problem I just bought a set to try it out anyone have reviews for race factory? LEDs and hids thinking of just buying it locally thx

 

5% on the windshield? That sounds Kinna scary I would think poor visualization?

 

I sorta like 5% all around and nothing on the windshield but yeah cops can be a fucking bitch sometime no offense to our fellow officers but man I've seen how many cops with HIDS in their headlights and fogs and I know their vehicle did not come with it also see them with 5% tint all around and yet they have the right to pull others over for it

You can't tell me there are undercover when they have a dayum light on their roof and almost every dayum 4 runner with tint has a pig tail antenna

Last time when I was running 5% on my fronts I was lucky to have my windows rolled all the way down officer never noticed

I guess it depends on the cops cause I drive through town plenty and drive next to cops daily and non bus me for recon (will have it soon)

The one time they got me for recon was when some guy flashed me as soon as I pulled into sandys at night to follow my friend home who was waiting for me
