soo...my truck smells like ass...so here's my method for fixing this somewhat common (i hope) problem

    1. Gather tools - I have:
    a Microfiber towel
Oakley ANSI safe sunglasses (safety first!)
    gloves (again...safety!)
    Kershaw Leek knife
    various pliers
    rubber mallet
vitamin water XXX (the ONLY good flavor)
    spit bottle
can of dip (required when working on a truck)
I also have a mosquito candle thing to prevent me from being carried off by the aircraft sized skeeters here

    2. Pack heat...dont wanna get robbed while i work
    DSC00317_7f99a17bdfa2da692e11c1203223865724f571d2.jpg

    3. Decide on a scent - I went with Tropical Shower
    DSC00294_1c9119ba9f7ed3f2e88348667ced08519dffa49a.jpg

    4. Unlock Truck
    DSC00295_a11a025dfd3f93ced0be04616962d9ff1e7eec79.jpg

    5. Open Door - WHEW! stinks in here!
    DSC00298_ba01ae09aa682d7cdcd58d3d05e771a8d45584d0.jpg

    6. Crank Truck - necessary for safety...notice the gloves so i dont burn myself
    DSC00296_218bf25940feb242ae615bc04510cac7b0b9b1fb.jpg

    7. Choose good rock station on XM - 48 Octane
    DSC00297_2c43e8c398aa544ddc185894c985a69100422ee9.jpg

    8. Remove gloves - throw in a dip

    DSC00300_ed02179f3784ddd9bfe8d84a115915b6bbb006b5.jpg

    9. VERY CAREFULLY! use knife to open package
    DSC00301_0ab0a46957830592f11797bfe04767b3816cc2d6.jpg

    10. Expose product
    DSC00302_cd48ffa099cfe46082c43ad85439936aefd5ea87.jpg

    11. Using pliers - remove product
    DSC00303_ed49f3a2c073d14253fe4384d7234c829fe13a41.jpg

    12. Place product in gloved hand - wrapped in microfiber towel will also work
**This is very important because you dont want the scent to transfer to your hands - unless of course you performed a dirty sanchez with your boyfriend last night...then you may want the scent on your fingers**
    DSC00304_a225a94378540b9e0033f6d72f9a06c953ba6635.jpg

    13. Locate vents for placement - there are 4 in the 01-04 Tacoma
    DSC00305_c6d0aced348262fd1d5bb32c066f0022089afc10.jpg

    DSC00307_f88f1696e84a25148a32a6fa754903ec393f50f6.jpg

    14. Using pliers and gloves...clip product onto vents
    DSC00308_588905fab3d5d7922258fa550c131aa45c02f19d.jpg
    DSC00309_f030f837665f11825d6a16b0e8eb12ffe3b5d138.jpg
    DSC00311_265bc4bcec678636c86b6a3871a31fa6a4b68171.jpg

    15. You may have trouble getting them all the way into the vents...using a rubber mallet CAREFULLY pop them in
    DSC00314_dae898d06fffbfb96d3caacf34aa4dd41e9d6aff.jpg
    DSC00313_fd5d326bff7f74cbe5e2e6a72b7574d6b913bcf2.jpg

    16. INSTALLED!
    DSC00310_826ee89e22d53595dec52cc146eb7812a970a34b.jpg
    DSC00315_721e932118b7037ba68fa8117bc972372e88b299.jpg
    DSC00316_2a636acbbf28ef2c757d9763c0ac5189a60ebe69.jpg

    17.Go to large trashcan
    DSC00318_4974ca3d27a98a31c5fe0f9c4669f3eefbdbd4e7.jpg

    18. Dispose of packaging
    DSC00319_6221abf79342ca48e8ea4b25c048bf26e727ab8c.jpg

    19. Enjoy fresh scent in truck
    DSC00298_ba01ae09aa682d7cdcd58d3d05e771a8d45584d0.jpg

    Now then...questions
    1. Will i need to have my vents aligned now?

    2. Will this size rub when i turn on my a/c?

    3. How much will this improve my MPG?

    4. Will this add any HP?

    5. Will it affect my warranty?

    6. Will i need to regear my a/c?

Good write up... but I think there's a little more involved than just using air freshner...

I have read that you need a slide hammer to remove these if you used the rubber mallet install method, is this true? Will the rubber mallet install also work on the 09 or do I have to use the 20 pound drilling hammer Toyota recommends?

I am gathering the supplies to complete this mod tonight.

I have never chewed tobacco before, should I practice before I start this mod?

That's where those things go! I've had the same ones clipped to my underwear for a month now. I always thought it was weird seeing those underwear clips in the automotive section of Wal-Mart; but I just kept it my little secret. Ladies love a taint that smells like a tropical rainstorm.

yeah maybe a few good practice runs, before the real deal. DO NOT swallow the juice and if you do video tape what happens later!
