Well, let's have a quick talk about this vinyl... Had my step dad come over to give me a hand and I was going to do the hood only. We got it laid on there and everything was going good. Got the whole hood done and there was an air bubble right in the middle of the hood. No big deal... This stuff isn't that bad to work with, you just have to take your time and it's tedious. Air bubbles come right out.... Normally. I got a ton of air bubbles out with no problems at all, but for whatever reason this one didn't want to release thru the vinyl like it is supposed to. So, I think to myself, I will just push it together and make a pin hole in it. Well, when I pushed it all together the air bubble stretched the vinyl and created a wrinkle. So, at this point I'm pissed... I am ocd and a perfectionist, so I'm like, I am doing it right and fixing it. I start peeling the vinyl back from the side to get to the middle to heat it and get rid of the wrinkle...

Takes me a little while, but I finally get to it and start heating it, it's looking good, so I hit it a little more with the heat gun. Son of a #@$! A hole! I guess I over heated it and a hole created. So, I ripped it all off and clay barred it again. Basically wasted about $50 worth of vinyl. Guess I will give it another try as soon as I get time. May be a while, I am going to Atlanta this weekend and then Florida for a week for my brothers wedding.

It isn't that bad or hard to work with... From what I noticed, you really can't mess this stuff up to a point you can't fix it. As long as you don't do what I did! Air bubbles were easy to correct and any wrinkles were easily fixed with a heat gun. You have to have someone there to help you! You can't do it with just one set of hands. There is definitely an art to it though... You really have to take your time and not rush anything. It would be nice to have a contact that really knows what they are doing so I could ask them questions, because after I screwed up that piece and tore it all off. I was reading online that air bubbles will correct themselves in a little sunlight, so I probably didn't need to do anything and it would have fixed itself...

Yep, I guess so... Right now the score is vinyl 3, Danny 0! I will get back on it soon... I learned a lot thru this, so I think I will definitely be better at it this time around. I watched another video and liked the way he put the vinyl on, so I might try that next.

 

since i'm ranting and raving because i'm pissed, allow me to just say SCREW 4 WHEEL PARTS! spend $7,000 in the last year and still get crappy service when they screw up.

then read this .......... So after i did all that, i called EGCS last monday and talked to Chase. I explained to him everything that had happened and asked him what he could do for me. If he would buy the parts from me or if i could just send him the parts and him credit me for them and build me some 3rds. He says that its no problem and he would be glad to help me out. Just ship him the parts and he would take care of me. So i hung up the phone and took my parts to the FedEx store and shipped them monday night. They were scheduled to arrive at ECGS on wednesday so i figured i would wait a few days to see if they call me or not. This monday, i hadnt heard from them yet so i called up there. Talked to a different guy about what was going on, he went and found my box and told me that they hadnt had a chance to look at the parts yet. He said that someone would look at them tom morning and make sure everything was good and then he would call me and get me a price. So yesterday around 4, he calls and tells me that all my parts looked good and that my price was going to be $1,168.00 and that whenever i return my 3rds, i would get $675 back for the core charges. Which means that i will only end up paying $493!! So i went ahead and gave him my info and he said that he would go ahead and email me an invoice for the payment.

Of coarse i was very happy because he gave me full credit for all the parts and that their labor obviously is a pretty good price. So today i got home from work and checked my bank account to see if he had billed me yet. Sure enough he had. I then got on my email to check for the payment invoice and he had sent it at 10 this morning. So im looking at all my other emails and notice a Fedex shipping email. So im thinking, i havent ordered anything recently so what would i be getting shipped to me. Open the email and its a tracking number for the diffs! They shipped out at 530 this evening!! I cant believe how fast that was! So in 2 days, i had my parts looked at, made a payment, and parts shipped to me!! Now thats some fuckin service!! So hopefully they will take 2 days to ship and i will have them friday and be putting some brand new 3rds with 4.88s and a rear Powertrax locker in my truck this weekend.

 

Wow, that's crazy! Chase does an awesome job over there and helped me out when they did mine. I would highly recommend them to anyone! I sometimes wish I would have done the 4.88s... You will love it.

Yeah I talked with 3 diff people and all three were very helpful and willing to talk to me and inform me of exactly what was goin on and stuff. I'm very happy with them

 

Where's that? And I'm not so sure how to do the front. Gotta learn sometime through.
