I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
I would assume you could measure from the cam bolt to the old location to see ho much of a drop it is. if it's a 6" drop bracket you would need coil overs for a 6" lift but It might be a 4.5" drop bracket you would have to check.

Yeah it is a 6'' DB from the old bolt to the new one. I haven't been able to find any 6'' lift coil overs do you know anyone that makes them and rough estimate on the cost? This is what I was originally thinking of doing like this guy http://www.parksoffroad.com/tacomamods/lift/tuffcountry/tuffcountry.htm
But if I could get some 6'' lift coilovers and do away with the damn spaces that would be ideal!! Thanks for the info :) it has already helped me understand what I have and what I need a lot more than before.

Around $1150 for Icon 6'' lift coilovers. Might just have to do that!

I am by no means an expert on DB lifs, but those look to be 2nd gen 5100's on a first gen.

They are. I couldn't find first gen 5100's anywhere. Every place I checked was backordered for at least 3 months, and I was told the 2nd gens were the same except for the 2'' shaft on the bottom so I ordered them and took the extra 2'' into effect by cutting my spacer down. This is probably part of my problem, hence why I want to get them out and get some full length coil overs under there!

Ok so got the icon 2.5s for my 6" lift today!! Anyone know if there is a L/R side for these things? The top plate is different on the, looks like its flipped on one of them if that makes sense. Neither places the charging valve straight out. The top plate pivots, should I angle it towards the front or back??

Thats what I have man. It should work great for you. You can probably even gain some ground clearance and more lift if you want. Watch your CV angles tho

Do you know which way they are supposed to go on? The top plates are different where they bolt on. Did you put the valves facing more to the front or back of the truck?

Hmmm so is the charging valve on yours coming out pretty much in the middle? Mines facing towards the front a little. Don't know if it should matter much? Or if I should drill new holes so its facing right in the middle?

Dude I don't think it matters. I think it totally depends on your mounts on your mounting blocks. Id turn it so that you can put line the holes up. Don't mess with the valves at all they are Nitrogen charged. As long as it lines up at the bottom.

I give up for the night I have a final in the morning :/ all the pics I've seen the valve is coming straight out facing the middle of the wheel well and mine is facing either front or back (left or right), depending which holes I line it up with. Dunno if they messed up my top plate or if that's how it's supposed to go. I'm not gonna mess with the coil over, I was saying drilling new holes in then mounting bracket so the valve faces out the middle. Only reason I can see this being an issue is because it pivots on top plate and it makes sense to pivot in the middle. I'll be calling icon in the morning n try n figure it out!

So! I just got off the phone with Todd at ICON and he said that is how it should go. I am still a little skeptical because all the other pictures look different that this, but I guess I will go ahead and finish putting the rest of it back together, take it for a little spin, and let ya know how it is!

Thanks for everyones help/advice/smart ass remarks! :D

How does it ride man? I feel like it shouldn't flex too much at that level anyways. Hope it works out for you.

Got it aligned and the extended brake lines on and it rides amazing! Going down the road it takes bumps and pot holes super smooth and off road is night and day to before I had these. Rides 100% better! I dont have to slow to a creep when the trail washboards or or gets ugly, it handles tons better and got rid of most of the clanks and hard jolts coming from the front. They handle like a champ! My flex is about the same as before, maybe a little bit more without that shitty spacer!
Next upgrade is going to be the URD 7th injector kit and either a 2.2" or 2.1" pulley for the S/C. Cant wait!

Sweet. I'm glad it worked out. After installing the 7th inj, S/C came alive. You will love it and I think its a must. My ping was hideous.
