What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

eh, it's just one more thing to add to the list

and good thing mines a road queen then lol. we'll see how it holds up through a couple washes. it says "industrial strength" on the paint pen...

Thanks! like I said I'll probably do one more coat some day in the near future, just takes too long to do in one afternoon before you run out of daylight. It's kind of thin in some places right now so one more coat should do the job!

 

I found one for the same price only 90 miles away with 4.10s but the left axle is bent

 

Ha if anyone would appreciate it it would be you. Just gotta convert the hella's to HID now.

 

Finally finished building the bumper.

looks good! should you brace the corners though? if you smack a tree i feel like they would push back

 

You'd have bigger problems if you hit a tree that hard.

 

Not yet. Still figuring that part out haha. I made it so the farther out the wings of the bumper go, the more room there is in between them and the fenders to allow for give if I bump a rock or tree

 

Finally took the time to redo my grill.

Cut it so its only 1" deep all the way around to make more room for my lights:


Also decided I would cut out the little tirangle pieces:


And Lastly, I decided to color match it, I really didn't like the black on the old man tan truck. I think it looks pretty good, much better than last time. Just need to cut the mesh pieces to fit the triangles, but for now, its off to work.

More than that, its the movement of the body. My bumper has about a finger width in between the fender and bumper and on a few huge hits it made small cracks from where the body shifts and it hit the bumper. Not as much of an issue with crawling though, and bumper looks really good 45acp
