Rear leaf packs

Trying to remove rear leaf packs and can't get the bolt out close to gas tank. Anyone have a trick to tell me or do I need to drop tank to beat it out.

 

had to use a cut off wheel on both my main eye bolts

try to heat or freeze it yet?

 

being close to the tank might be dangerous for heat. sawzall or maybe use a fire extinguisher to freeze it.

 

Cut off wheel is what I used, be careful not to damage the frame bracket when cutting.

 

If you use a powerful impact to spin the bolt, and use a large prybar on the threaded end of the bolt, it should come out. If you live in a rusty area, you're probably screwed regardless

 

Took a sawzall and an air impact gun to get the damn thing off on my truck. Took many hours and lots of swearing lol

 

I just did the lift on my truck and it was impossible to get that bolt out....I ended up just leaving it on and removing the rear and dropping the axle to do the AAL. When I replace the leaf packs I will be buying all new bolts and shackles.

 

Thanks guys for the ideas. I have ordered all new bolts as for the front eye bolts grinned of the heads of bolts and used an air chisel to get them out. Pain in the butt! The new leaf packs will be worth it though.
