Just saw a press release for Pioneer's new navigation

What do you guys think? Anyone going to get one?

Release is slated for July 2009.

Looks like the range will be from $599-$1600.

Budget being the AVIC-U310BT for $599.
Mid-range AVIC-X710BT and AVIC-X910BT for $900 and $1100.
Top end AVIC-Z110BT for $1600.

 

still though, with all those features, it looks sounds nice

 

Ooooo... so tempting! I have the AVIC-Z2 right now. I would go for the Z110BT since the 7" screens are my favorite... and, I like the MSN Direct features for weather and traffic functions. It seems better than my XM NavTraffic, but not sure.

 

I haven't installed it yet, but I have the DNX9140. This
is my first Kenwood HU. I have always liked Pioneer.

Just figured I'd get the news out, looks like they're
raising the bar on the feature list. For those that were
waiting for this July can't come soon enough.

 

If the Z110BT allows you to rip music from MP3 CD/DVDs to the hard disk then I will pay any price.

 

a million dollor question:
would it be possible to update a Z3 software to Z110BT?

 

Good question... it may, though certain peripherals and software would not know what to do with each other... such as USB port not there.

 

unlikely...the Z1-Z3 varied little in terms of features and it was all software. The Z110BT seems to be a whole different animal.

 

So if the Z3 fits in a Tacoma dash, will the Z-110BT? The reason I ask is b/c Crutchfield says that the Z3 fits, but that the Z-110BT won't...could this be just b/c it's brand new and not even technically released yet? Anybody know?

 

got the hu installed a week ago and love it. big improvement in sound over stock non jbl with subwoofer. very responsive and the bluetooth works great with my crackberry. sirius installed but will go back and get the adapter to eliminate extra antenna. bypass is easy and works as well, no stoppin or e brake needed.

 

That's good to know. I've seen a video of someone showing all the options and how responsive it is... plus I like the fact you can customize icons on your screen and place them where you want. Did you get the iPod adapter? I was wondering how responsive it was as well, plus I wanted to see if it showed Album Art... just curious. I have the CD-IB100II attached to my AVIC-Z2, and it takes a few seconds to execute a command after touching the screen... kindof annoying.

I have an older I pod so dont know about album art, but it works great with the adapter in the glovebox. Very fast response. I have sirius and am getting the factory cable so i can get rid of the extra antenna and use the factory one already on the roof. also getting the device to use the factory steering wheel controls. have had it for 3 weeks now and really love the bluetooth. It works perfect and has your phone book right there as well. It connects automatically with ease every time.
