Yeah I can't afford the bumpers before Moab. Been getting other stuff that needed to be done first. But I has sliders and considering getting some plate and making a belly skid though. I am on GY DTs and I like them so far they seem pretty grippy

The DT's are nice, just gotta watch the sidewalls. I have a small fab business now so I'll be building my IFS, Tcase, diff skids this weekend along with my HC rear, or at least something good enough for MOAB because my chrome rear is already coming off. If I had a 4R to mock with, I'd build you something for MOAB. Got the hook up at IMS

What is wrong with the sidewalls???

Damn that would be tempting. I just wanna get my belly covered. I like fabbing my own stuff I am a newbie at welding but getting better and better. I just enjoy it. well find a 4runner then lol

Cooke city is about 100 miles. S about the same to the east gate..

And yea..Yellowstone is great..but honestly..not frankensteins territory now. It's just..idk..to main stream for me now I guess. I love and have seen many great things there. But I like the much more secluded harder to reach areas now. Haha

Don't know anyone with your generation Haha. Yeah I went with nothing but sliders and tires last year. I just gotten in a wreck and used the insurance money to fix the mechanical issues and don't have even the stock bumper Haha. I am a noob too haha, but i am getting better as well. We just started doing bigger projects recently and decided to start a little business out of what we were already doing.Yeah the sidewalls on the DT's are a little soft. Jerry shredded 2 last year and my buddy has them on his wrangler and he punched the sidewall with just a baby little stick on the ground Haha. They are good tires. Just gotta watch the sidewalls.

 

If the DT sidewalls are that bad you don't want to wheel with us in Shelley then Ben. That can be a tire eating trail if you take some of the harder lines. Probably a good thing you won't be around for t. Although it may not happen now anyway.

 

They aren't that bad, you just have to watch how you wheel. It's the upper side wall close to the rim. They have a decent pattern close to the tread that normally doesn't get torn up

their is 8 ply and 10 ply

8 ply has a 2 ply sidewall, making it considerably weaker


the 10 ply DT's have been gone on record to being a 4 ply side, not sure, I do know they WAY heavier and you clearly see the increase in sidewall size

 

Will I guess everyone must be running the 8's

GY was so overwhelmed with DT's sales they had to change from a 10 ply to an 8 ply to keep up with orders, as they were originally a 10 ply

 

duratracs suck..period.
