so i started my apprenticeship as an electrician in the field last week, and i am required to have a 6' A-frame ladder. obviously the ladder is too long for my short bed but that isn't an issue, i don't mined letting it hang over the top of the tail gate. my question is does anyone have any ideas on a way that i can lock the ladder to the bed rail system or something of that nature. i am sure there is someone on here that has done something like this before. let me know if you have any ideas or something. thanks in advance!

Get a cable/chain, and a lock and use the tie down hooks in the bed by the tailgate.

Also put in tie downs on the front bed bolts so you can lock it twice with chains.

What about a utility rack and just throw it on top?

Put wheels on it and trailer it , or buy a Tacoma with a real box

A trailer seems like the only responsible way to do this.

Do a bed extender, snake lock through a D ring. PS make sure the ladder is fiberglass.:D

Which company requires a 6' A-frame ladder? I've been in the electrical field for years and I don't remember any of the companies (small or large) requiring you have your own ladder. For me that just scream liability issue on the company part. If you fall off the ladder and get hurt, the company can say it's not their fault. I can see having your own personal tools but ladder... wtf?

They also have one with a 3/8" cable. It was just too big to fit the Taco bed.
