    No shit huh! haha

Anyone got experience or info on patching a sidewall... I circled the tear. It is maybe 1-2" long and appears to hold air unless I am parked with it down...

Certainly will be, with Monte's rescue, Brady's tire issue, and my return from the wilderness. :p

And yes, boats aren't practical on the dirt...

I talked with Konsta a little and googled some stuff. I might try Jerry-rigging something before I just give up on it... I really doubt I will even find a tire that size used and they still have too many miles on them to just ditch. Plus I will have a hard time convincing to wife to let me spend the money on new ones right now...

I think you would be be fine replacing the one tire, the only time I would worry about it is if you had a limited slip in the rear and you had one new and one old on the rear.

Does atrac kick in when you are turning in a circle?

No. It can tell when one tire is on a small/medium rock and one isn't though. I just assumed it detects when you are turning or straight.

And I thought you were e locked rear and arb front? And honestly the difference in your wheel speed would be no bigger than driving a curve on the interstate

Yeah. A-Trac isn't what I am worried about. It's the VSC system when I am driving around town or on the freeway...

IMO, if you are worried about it, I would just put the new tire on front. Then its just freewheeling the whole time

I am probably worried over nothing, like you said, but VSC tracks wheel speed on all 4 wheels so it wouldn't matter where I put it.

And compare my numbers to what?

it that corner reenforced somehow? if somebody bumps he from the corner (say in a parking space) it could crumple and mess up the bedside really bad

I'm back too...3 mooses (one tried to come and help play scrabble with mom and I), 5 million deer, some elk, a peregrin falcon, eagles, sandhill cranes and a really squished skunk on the highway on the way home

oh, and...320 miles, and Toy passed 90k :pout:

:woot: What else did you find down there? Did any of my suggestions pan out?

Where did you go? North Yellowstone?

I'm working on giving you a trip report, just looking through my (almost) 1K pictures, I took. I know, I know, too many! I took roughly 550 one day and around 350ish the other day.

    Just checking
If he wants it powder coated tell him I know a place
I was south of Big Timber MT on hte northern edge of the Beartooth wilderness

 Sounds about average to me. WHen I do a Teton trip I usually run in and get one memory card downloading before I unpack and then switch out cards as I unpack and shower

This is the short story of what happened today with Cameron.

So I went for a ride down in Downey and I don't know if a stick did it or if the big rock I played on did it, but I ended up with a small tear in my sidewall I checked my tires before I got back on the freeway and they all looked fine and I drove all the way back to Poky at 75. Got off the exit drove a few miles. Rolled up to a stop light and it felt funny when I came to a stop, then I noticed I was leaning and I looked out the window and the tire was pretty much flat... When the light turned green and I started to move you could feel it flopping now so I think it more or less burst on the spot as I was coming to a stop... I was 2 blocks from home! So I tried to make it but after 1 block it was sounding much worse (tire was completely flat now) so I stopped and filled it up to 30psi and drove the last block. As soon as I tried to drive, every time the tear would go under me (basically when the weight of the vehicle was on the tear) it would blow out some air. It seems to hold air just fine though when it isn't on bottom.
