    Thanks! (I think? :p)

Just to keep things fun around here, attached is a 'teaser' pick :D

I kept teetering between 19's and 20's literally for months (way before I even bought my dumb-head truck). 20" tires are typically cheaper, but there's a lot of negatives to them:
    • wheels and tires weigh more
    • the weight is further from the center of the wheel, decreasing acceleration and braking performance even more (but then again, by going with 19's, it's not like I'm going to get great performance anyway)
    • I'd have to run such a small aspect ratio to keep the speedometer correct that rim protection from potholes becomes none-existant.
I've read all sorts of posts about people running 40 series tires having bent or damaged wheels and wishing they had gone with a 45 series. I had 45 series tires on my last truck for over 10 years, so I'm assuming that's a pretty safe bet. Since my truck is a daily driver, I do need a little sidewall, so 19's won.

Now I have to pick some tires and get them mounted. I plan on visiting Discount Tire as they're the only shop I've heard of that can install programmable TMPS sensors. The plan is to have new sensors put in the new wheels with the same sensor IDs as my OEM wheels. That way, when I swap my summer wheels for my winter wheels, the TMPS light will stay off w/o a trip to the dealer.

If you're running a 255/35/20, then your tire's outer diameter is nearly identical to stock, so it'd make sense that your speedo is accurate. (But a 35 series tire sure is skinny!)

    Check out my build:)
yea they look hella mean but they are rough especially whe nroads are rough also add in the fact i have almost no suspension travel che heee!!

yeah 245/35/20 is what i have up front and os .1" smaller in diameter than stock which isnt much however 245/35 is the lowest profile id go thats why im going with 18's so i can down size the tire and still have some tire left over 19's the tires are way too expensive for me
if you un a 245/40/19 0r 255/40/19 you should be perfect mainting the speedo and ive seen 245/40 and 255/40 they arent over sized sidewalls but they also arent rubberbands

you dont really need 45 series unless u have no choice but to go through every pot hole naw mean i understance the concern for busting a tire but much of that can be avoided by careful driving just my 2 cnts
19's are perfect blend of enough rim and enough tire for the 2nd gens

All my friends had boosted cars, and I was the slow one of the group. I eventually stopped caring.

It's not even that all my friends have boosted cars, I can use the GTR when i want, it's just the Taco is usless during winter in the snow cause all it does is spin and im not happy the only thing i can put money into the truck is the Stero and suspension

Thought about it, buti'd have to get custom rods and pistons, custom manifold, have the ECU hacked, fuleing, get it built, trans rearend custom intercooler mounts and a bunch other. And it'd take time for the engine to be built so I'd have to DD the GTR if it gets wet which i wouldnt want to do. it'd be a 5k+ project easily for a 400hp truck

    True
URD. Makes a supercharger kit for the 2.7
It's not full out custom racing but will give you much more power where you need it
But if you are concerned on winter how does having a car make it better if it's even lower to the ground?
    Just a question

car would be awd, either WRX or Evo, and the URD only gives 100hp. and truck spins the whole time in snow

it's more like $5K for around 3-350 hp. 400 hp your would be spending alot more. internals can handle though, forged rods and iron block stock is a good recipe for booooooooost.
