i've been trying to find a solid answer for some time now with no avail.

i've heard to get the ones with reverse terminals, i've heard to mount it sideways, i've heard to use a piece of 2x4 as a spacer, all kinds of shit.

can somebody please tell me exactly what red top will fit in an 04, and how? if you got the model number, that would be sweet

    brownie points for pics

The closest fit is a Red Top 34R. Either some sort of spacer or a modified hold-down bracket will be required.

    x2... i ran a 34R and it worked perfect...

im currently using a 35 or 78 and my wires are stretched pretty tight...

looking to step up to a yellow top 75 if i can find a reversed terminal one though...

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
You will need a Optima 34R...R meaning reverse terminals.

just out of curiosity, why the switch to 35 or 78 if the 34R worked perfect?

im thinking better go with the diehard platinum. too much work in looking for spacers and whatnot. seems like optimas taking a nosedive anyway

anybody using this battery? does it fit good without spacers and things?

If that's a Group 35 Platinum - no, it won't fit without adaptation. The terminals are located on the front, not the rear, when installed 'upright', and your stock battery cables won't reach them.

Had no problems with my yellow top. The plus cable is stretched out a little bit, but it fit right in there with no adapters or extra parts....

I had a bitch of a time with my yellow top.
Cords to short then i made a mistake that i do not care to mention. Had to change the stock wires from top mount to side mount.
When the weather gets better i will complete but now the truck runs.

I almost bought an Optima. Too much money in my opinion. I went for an Interstate. No problems whatsoever and it fits great!
