I know many folk on here aren't spacer lift fans, but 1% of my driving time, per year, is spent offroad and it's very light. This is my 3rd Tacoma and I finally decided to lift this one. I've enjoyed everything about it so far. The ride is a little rough, but nothing that breaks my back. The E-rated tires don't help the ride much, but I'm very happy overall. All the work (lift install, tires mounted on rims, balance, and alignment) was done by my father and I in his small town auto repair shop.

A quick question for you lift gurus. I have a lot of "through the mountain" roads. Since adding the lift, the VSC has been extremely sensitive. I understand that adding lift/tires makes the center of balance higher. Yesterday I was driving through some windy roads and came to a sharp turn and almost had a heart attack bc the VSC kicked in and tried straightening the truck out. I was travelling slightly faster than the suggested speed limit. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what was your fix?

Nice LB!! Looks so good! Can't wait to get my lift on!

How much lift did the 2" AAL give you? Did you have the 4 leaf pack already? I'm going with 885's and 1/2 top plates and I don't want my truck to be nose high. Just curious if ill need a 1" block or not... Before and after measurements if you have them or at least after!

    Thanks!

Thanks. I may have seen this before and just didn't think about it.

    No new UCA's

It's strange how things work out like that. Could be the difference in suspension components.

I have the OEM 4 leaf pack, plus the AAL. I never took pre/post measurements, but it looks pretty level just by eyeballing it.

Nothing wrong with spacer lifts for light users. Heck i bet half of the guys with full on coilover lifts dont venture offroad.
Did you go with a top plate spacer?

    I'm north of Lake George.

The Revtek kit is a combo of a preload spacer and a top plate spacer.

    None yet :D.
I enjoy this thread, I myself have to make a choice of either 5100's or spacer lift.
Thing is I have the SR5 4wd, and the suspension just seems a bit soft.
I figured the 5100's and a 2in aal would tighten up the suspension a bit.
Then again its brand new truck and I could do a spacer lift with the SR5 suspension gear.
AHHH the choices lol. Anyways your truck looks amazing and it sits perfect!

Some of the roads here in NY are worse then driving off road. Nice ride and I'm not saying that because I have the same TRD DCLB in black.

Nice to see some upstate guys! I see a few Tacomas around but they don't seem like the TW kind of people. Or they don't know!! I need a TW sticker!!
