Hey guys, I feel I have to share this.

A couple days ago, I received the terrible news that my best buddy had a terrible thing happen to him and his family. We learned that his house had completely burned down, and everything was lost. Him and his family, including his Mom and Pop, older sister with her baby, and his brother had to break out the window with a guitar to escape the fire, and THANK GOD everybody made it out of the burning house, with minor scratches and a couple stitches. The fire started right above them while they were sleeping really early in the morning, and was caused by a short in the fan's electrical system. Now because he was the Pastor at the Church of God, his house was owned by the church. His Father, the Pastor, soon learned that the house was under-insured, and that it would be a long road back. His son is on my baseball team. I would just like to say that everybody was kept save by the grace of God and that I have faith in the Lord and that He will keep them in his hands. He kept them safe and I pray for them every night.

I would just like you to keep them in your prayers and that the power of God is awesome! Thanks for this guys. :)

    God Bless

That's awful. Thoughts and prayers to them.

Also a good lesson... Everybody should check their own insurance.

I can't imagine losing your house and everything in it. Just imagine, the next morning you get up in a strange house and you have no toothbrush, no clean clothes to wear, not even a bar of soap to get washed up. At least everyone is OK. You're right, someone was looking over their shoulder. I'll pray that your friend and his family get their lives back to normal soon.

    Heart breaking.

This is why in my home inspection business, i inspect every home like i am buying it. I have inspected homes before and found fires the people in the home didn't even know they had that had that had put themselves out. Old knob and tube wiring or aluminum branch wiring are often the culprits around here.

Scary stuff, and too many do it yourself 'electricians'.

Thank God all are safe. I'll add them to my prayer list.

The insurance is one lesson we can take from this, but more important is the lesson of having an evacuation plan. Get one in place and practice it, especially with kids.

I'm glad everyone got out ok and no one was hurt. I will keep them all in my prayers. It's good to see the community rally around them.

Sorry to hear about this. Things will work out for them, they just have to keep their heads up. Things can eventually be replaced, unlike people.

Wow well we serve a good God and I know it may look bad now and it may be rough for a while but God is never done working behind the scenes in our favor. I know that I know they will probably end up with a better house and enjoy more of God's favor because that is the kind of God we serve. Many prayers for your friend's family.

Very glad to hear no one was seriously injured. Terrible about the house and insurance though. Hopefully your community will rally around for them and maybe do a few benefit softball games or something to help them out. They say everything happens for a reason, it's just hard to know what the reason is at the time.

We had a baseball game and raised $1,400 in one night alone. :)
