    Nothing new to add, but 'Dipped one of my badges for the heck of it last night.

    4 thin coats... 15 minutes between each coat... wait 15 minutes after last coat and peel.

    So simple, a caveman could do it, and yes... looks awesome! Rest of the badges this weekend. :)

    Did my wheels today. Not sure if I'm crazy about the white letters out but oh well. I can live with it. I didn't mask the tire off or anything. Sprayed them right on the truck. Enjoy

    I have used the garbage bag method on a few separate occasions and it is very easy.

    All I did was tape up calipers and drums and anything to deal with the brakes. Didn't tape up the tires either. And I agree it was very easy and quick!

    With 20k miles on my 2012 Taco, its time to do plastic dip.

    Do I have to sand the steel wheels? Also do the stuff last if I get the rims wet in salt water? I launch my jet ski about twice a month.

    What brand of Plastic dip to use? I am reading some threads but not sure:p

    dont have to sand anything. just wipe the surface down with alcohol. use the spray can plastidip for small areas.

    No you do not have to sand your wheels just wash them with something like dawn.
    Not sure about the salt water as long as you get a good coat it shouldn't matter.

    Plasti dip is made by performix and is about $6 a can at home depot and lowes

    I think I started one of these Plasti dip threads... Anyhow, I'm going on 2 years on the wheels, bumper, and grill. Offroading, mudding, playing in deep snow. I have a few tiny nicks on a couple wheels and the grill from bugs that I've been to lazy to fix, but other than that, still looks great and going strong!

    Left the grille on and just masked off around it. Prep was just cleaning it real well, I use electrical connector cleaner - seems to work just find and that's what I had on hand. Then start sprayin!
