That's true. But they don't fare well without parents. Now if all those against abortion were to sign up in a national registry to adopt all fetuses that would otherwise be aborted and sign a contract to raise them until 18, we'd be getting somewhere and could outlaw abortion. Except for cases where the mother's life is threatened.

Oh, but wait, murder is outlawed, and that doesn't stop murder, so what would be the point of outlawing abortions?

Yeah, no one wants a crack baby from a rapist. But if we outlaw it everyone has to be all-in on a national registry, and if a baby shows up on your doorstep some day, you have to take it. A deal's a deal.
