Just finished negotiations with my local toyota dealer and wound up getting them down $5000 on their initial best offer, on a trade of my 06 DC Sport to a 2013 DC Sport. I'm pumped!! I actually feel like I SCREWED THEM a little bit.

Anyone have good or bad experience with these (too good to be true) lifetime warranty rust proofing deals they throw in?? $960 for a full interior, paint, and frame rust, stain, hole guarantee lifetime guarantee as long as I own the truck...... in the rust belt, this seems too good to be true. I will drive this truck forever!

I tried a few of those during the 80's...the 83 Subaru rusted out about the same time Rusty Jones, the installer went belly up, the 86 Chevy got junked at 48 month point after my brother destroyed vehicle, but with no significant rust.

Pay your money, take your chances.

Is it a Toyota warranty or some second hand company warranty? If its Toyotas, I wouldn't be worried about it. If its some second hand company I would be a little hesitant towards 'lifetime warranty'.

I've personally had 100k mile warranties before through Honda. It was about $1000. It was worth it with some of the fixes I had. That was an actual Honda purchased warranty.

It beats the mile warranty rust proofing. I would be very wary about any rust proofing job where they give a mileage warranty as rust and mileage are 100% unrelated.

Don't buy anything extra. Take your truck and run. Everything else is just a scam.
