thinking about getting a S/C

i was thinking about getting a s/c and i was just wondering is it bad to get it when you truck has high milage. Also would the cylinder sleeves protect the the engine with the s/c kit

 

I'd get a leak down test to make sure everything inside the engine is up to par for boost.

 

is that something toyota does or do i have to go to a different shop for that

I threw one on at 70K with no worries........shes a beast (with supporting mods)

and also how long did it take you for the install ?

 

how is just normal driving around/ and how is the fuel consumption

 

also are you running a stock intake?

 

im thinking about getting one but i dont want to buy it for 5000 that way to much I know i find it for a good price. i only know if 2 places to get them and thats ebay and at the toyota dealership . do you know of any other places?
my set up i want to run with TRD intake and TRD cat back exhaust system and jba or gibson shorts headers i want my truck to pass smog

 

Gas mileage will not change unless the driver is at fault from my observations.......the whine is addicting and its hard to stay off the loud pedal.

Just remember to run 91 or better octane........I always did before so its not a learning curve here.

I chose trd over urd because I wanted my tq nice and low......and it delivers.
Cost was lower on trd as well.

Beware what exhaust u get......make sure it will clear your spare tire if ur going to 3", the trd 2.5" is same as stock iirc.

And don't get hung up like some ppl do on "trd" this or that.......they don't make parts, they contract others...... sometimes this step takes a huge nose dive too.

 

ok so i was trying to find out about running a 7th injector. can the URD be installed at home ?

 

i have no clue about ecu management. is the stock on fine?

 

Colton I thought the initial install of the supercharger was ok, but just ok. I did the same thing your about to do with a 2.8 pulley, it was better. But then I did the long tubes urd y-pipe and most importantly the UCON. I'm making about 6.5 psi with WOT. I would like to see more. Like you I think its the altitude. I'm at 4300 ft. I think after my warranty runs out I'm going for the 2.5" and the 7th injector. I'll probably try the 7th before I shave down the snout. If your going to do the 7th you defiantly need the UCON.
